Hi,

The iDSD micro includes a mode we call "Bit-Perfect."

In this mode no digital filtering is applied.

This "no filter" option is active and the only option for sample rates from 352.8KHz upwards.

For lower sample rates you can select this option or one of two different digital filters.

Just try them all out and see which you like.
This is really nice to know. I love xxhighend and would be interested to try it on micro bl since it supports higher sample rates. Xxhe works best with a high bandwidth/high slew rate system (Ears are the ultimate judge but would be nice to know if there is measurement for the analog bandwidth of the bl?)Wonder if there's any demo units I could try it on.

I have had my idsd bl for a couple years, and my iematch button has fallen off. is there a way I can get a replacement button? its a pain to to use that function now and I use it quite a bit switching between headphones and iems (Andromeda).

Can you open a support ticket with us here? We'll see if we can service you!

Thanks!

Does iDSD micro Black Label sound less warm than the Chord Mojo?

More lively and impactful and with a wider soundstage?

How many hours does the battery last?

When it dies is there a way to replace it?

And I didn't understand one thing, can you charge directly from your smartphone and even while listening?

Does iDSD micro Black Label sound less warm than the Chord Mojo?

From what I can tell, it doesn't. But that opinion is based on feedback of other users :)

More lively and impactful and with a wider soundstage?

This I don't know, sorry!

How many hours does the battery last?

It heavily depends on connected headphones, headphone amp mode and volume level.

When it dies is there a way to replace it?

We replace batteries even for our long discontinued products, so this shouldn't be a problem.

And I didn't understand one thing, can you charge directly from your smartphone and even while listening?

Although it's possible, you would drain your smartphone's battery very fast.

How much would it cost to replace the battery?

It depends on a model I think, but please ask us at support@ifi-audio.com if you wish to know the exact price. In the meantime I'll also ask internally about this, can't remember how much was it.

I just bought IFI Micro IDSD Black Label, I will have it next week.

From what I understand in the package there is no OTG cable to connect it to an Android smartphone.

This is OK?

Do I need Micro or Type C?

Regarding charging:

How long does it take?

Can I charge it with the normal 5V 2A smartphone charger?

With a Focal Clear at normal volume when should the battery last?

Thanks to those who want to answer!

My 6-year-old iDSD Micro battery started to give up eventually. So I just decided to upgrade it to a larger external one. This is a 10000 mAh Lipo battery from Amazon for less than 20 bucks which should give around 24hrs of non-stop playtime. I have not yet had time to test it after the full recharge is still taking place and may take a while. I am using a 2A 5V Dell laptop USB charger which gives a faster charge rate compared to a regular USB output.
For the new battery I reused the PCB 3-wire board and soldered it directly to the new element. The battery is much bigger. It needs to well-protected from mechanical damages. So I wrapped around some foam and covered it with some aluminum tape. Also I later put a sheet of adhesive felt for more protection (not on the photis) and it just feels better when carrying it on compared to the tape.
Wiring is super easy. All you need is just open up the case and lead the the 3 wires from the Molex connector out from the inside of the case to the bottom to connect the board from the original battery to the new one.
Of course it is possible to find a similarly-sized battery to put it inside. I don't like this solution. After a while most Lipo batteries start swelling and may burst into flames. If it happens inside the aluminum case, then you'll never know. Having it outside is safer and it can be replaced with ease if needed.

Here are some pictures of the DIY battery replacement project. It's really pretty easy to do. Anyone with some soldering skills can make it.

Let me know what you think.

Impressive. Did you solder this in or reuse the connector? Would love some more detailed pictures.
