like many have said, you aren't going to get an objective "upgrade" over the K701 but simply a different kind of sound. I'd recommend hitting up your local hi-fi store and buying something you like, as all you are going to get here is the personal opinions of others.

anybody using OPA627 or OPA637 in the Compass? I've been giving some a whirl lately with my Grados and K702s and I think I like what I hear, especially when using the compass as a DAC
