Is this card a good upgrade over an Audigy (1)? My current setup is just an Audigy > AKG 271S.

I get a weird sort of echo on some music/movies on the 271, but other than that, I have found them to be very good headphones. They feel sturdy and are comfortable for long sessions. Does anyone else notice some echo when using these?

Keep in mind that your tastes in headphones are probably quite a bit different than commando's, though. Afterall, you do hate his favorite closed phone =) I have seen a lot of praise and a lot of hate for these headphones. Sound like any other headphones on this site?

I have it as well, and I'm 22. I'm not even sure how long I've had it, but it's annoying! Mine isn't severe enough to be life altering, but I really miss silence.

For that price, I think you picked up a quality set of headphones. They have their flaws, but headphones in this and every price range do. As for the driver size being correlated to audio quality, I think that was covered with the posts above mine.

1 more thing... how much sound do these leak? I understand that they will leak as they are open, but how far would the sound travel? Would it be enough to bother someone in another room if turned up fairly high? I know that may sound ridiculous, but I haven't had a pair of phones this open...

It's not anything against Senns really, as I know may people that have them and are very satisfied. I have problems with my hands, and I am clumsy in general. I have seen headband cracks on the HD280, and I have heard of many problems with intermittancy in the 580, 600, 650 series. Opening up...

Hey, I wondered if anyone could tell me how durable the HD 555 is. How is the heandband? Any reports on it cracking like the HD280? How about intermittancy issues like the HD580,600,650? I won't be throwing these around or anything, but I don't want to have to baby them to keep them in one...
