Also consider if you want closed or open headphones.

I agree that the music probably has a stronger influence than the headphones, but I don't think the music alone could sweep you away without something half-way decent to listen to it on. Still, I feel like there has to be a set of phones or speakers, individual to a person, that evoke stronger...
