Amps that can drive the HiFiMan HE-6 planar headphones
I am looking for an amp/dac for speakers that have an impedance from 8 to 50 ohm. I know the CHORD HUGO TT 2 is coming, but I would prefer a NOS dac/amp. Is there a powerful NOS DAC/AMP out there? CLASS A?- sonorsnoopy

Life after Yggdrasil?
Well this is a thread about a man who is desperately looking for improvement. Just take it as a hint, as a new possibility. I read about the Solaris on gearslutz, I was impressed by the comments and I wanted to share this to the man who loves to test DAC's. That's all. That forums are...- sonorsnoopy

Life after Yggdrasil?
You should try the Crane Song Solaris. A pro audio DAC, supposed to be better than the yggy. Haven't tried one yet. https://www.reddit.com/r/audiophile/comments/5j24h7/loving_the_sunshine_today_from_my_desk/ More transparent than the lynx Hilo, and a better than average headphone amp...- sonorsnoopy

DAP that drives studio monitors (xlr) really well?
Is there such a device? How about dynamics? I had a chord Hugo once - unbelievable hype, detailed yes but lacking drive and dynamics's, due to battery power. Is there any dap that has doesn't have these issues?- sonorsnoopy

Schiit Gungnir DAC
What would you recommend: better streamer or better dac? Bimby + Auralic Aries Femto (better) or Gimby + Auralic Aries LE (lower model) I would use them in a STAX setup with fully balanced amps (RCA+XLR input) (...and dont say Gimby+ Femto ! :-)- sonorsnoopy

The Stax Thread III
Better amp or phone? Would you recommend L700+ 353X or L500 / 407 + better amp?. Is the balanced XLR input better than the RCA with the STAX amps?- sonorsnoopy

Is there a STAX amp with SMPS (auto ranging 100-240V)?
Hi, I travel a lot and would like to know if there is high quality amp that drives STAX headphones and has a SMPS that has autoranging voltage input 100-240V and is lighter than 10lb / 5kg and cheaper than 1.5k ? I would like to use it with 407 or L500 or L700. Thank you- sonorsnoopy

Closed, clarity and soundstage
The best for you is the NAD VISO HP50 - extremely good, live sound but small earcups 2nd Best is the Focal Spirit Classic - more bass, less natural, but small earcups I have heard sll other cans that were mentioned, and the NAD and Focal are better. The H6 has no bass, soundstage very good...- sonorsnoopy

I thought about resolution audio cantata, prism lyra 1, bakoon 9730. can you recommend a r2r ladder dac up to 3k used? i don't care if it is 16/44 only. how long will the internal parts...- sonorsnoopy

Ultrasone New performance Series: 840, 860 & 880 (First post last update : 2014/12/07)
I heard the 880 and thought it was good in transients, treble definition and soundstage, only the bass seems to be disjointed from the rest of the spectrum and seems slower / muddy / damped. It seem as if it is a not very well done transmissonline bass. I wonder what the 2 holes above the driver...- sonorsnoopy

Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7 Discussion Thread
Cool = not warm less organic = less real more artificial unreal timbre PRAT (pace rhythm and timing) = better transient response / more speed / rhythmic cohesion- sonorsnoopy
