Thanks for the comparison! I was curious about the Dekoni TH pads. I find the bass a bit too strong (but better than stock) with these Aliexpress pads, so I guess the Dekoni pads wouldn't be for me. I agree that the filters aren't really needed with many aftermarket pads (those that boost the bass).

Yeah I didn't really find the A7 to be much of an improvement. If you like leaner bass and energetic mids and highs, you may like the GS Audio SD9. It does have excellent treble extension. It can be shouty at times, a bit like the FDX1 with undampened nozzles.

My LZ A7 (black monitor mode) and my FDX1 (middle nozzles) are fairly similarly tuned. The A7 has a bit more treble extension I beleive. However, it's not really an upgrade overall.

I would not mind buying their headband system and use it with my HE6seV2 cups. Might buy a Nan-6 if it becomes available on the international market.

I too think Sundara is VERY well tuned. It is neutral, so it might be boring to some. I'm curious to read your comparison of the XS and Sundara. I decided to go the HE6sev2 way.

They are a good upgrade from Sundara. Price = HE6se + amp + balanced DAC = $$$ I would not have needed the amp and bal dac if it weren't fore these cans.

My experience is limited to my SD9 and a trial of the SE11. If I'm not mistaken, all GS Audio hybrid models share the same DD. Some, like the SD9, have BA drivers for bas as well, which may improve details, but doesn't make it feel more DD like. Treble extension on upper range models is very good.

The bass on mine is pretty neutral, only a little more elevated than on my Sundara. However, it is far more textured and has more impact and rumble. This is with my Drop balanced THX amp. With my Topping L30 my Sundara sound a bit better. Amplification is key.
