HIFIMAN Arya - Arya Stealth - Arya Organic :: Impressions Thread

Has anyone done a comparison between all the Arya revisions (including the latest 2021 revision)? If so, could I trouble you to post your findings here?

Vision Ears and Rhines Custom Monitors (formerly Compact Monitors)

Thanks for the many responses folks; really appreciate it. I'm going to go for a second set of impressions and send my Elys back for a refit. I've tried to live with them for a couple of days but wow the jaw really does start to ache and feel a little sore after some time. It's pretty hard to...

Does that mean that you held a closed mouth for the entire time the impression was being made of your ears, and only opened your mouth once at the beginning of the process (after injection of the impression material)? How long did you have to hold the open jaw?

Vision Ears and Rhines Custom Monitors (formerly Compact Monitors)

I've been really enjoying the sound of my custom Elysium which arrived a week or so back but have been struggling a little with the fit. I find my jaw getting slightly tired/sore from wearing the IEMs over a long time. I suspect this is because the audiologist took an open mouth impression with...

Vision Ears and Rhines Custom Monitors (formerly Compact Monitors)

Thanks for the replies. For those who have gone the way of customs, how do you keep your Elysium clean of ear wax? I notice that unlike the universal model which has replaceable mesh filters, and other manufacturers such as 64 Audio which come with a built-in mesh filter, there doesn't appear to...

I'm thinking quite hard of getting the Elysium but worry about the whole talk of the power required to drive them and also their sensitivity to output impedance. While I understand the whole importance of having source synergy, IEMs are intended to be portable and I would hope for them to at...

I just had the opportunity to demo the Vision Ears Elysium over the weekend and track after track I found myself stunned at the clarity, air, transparency and sense of realism the IEM offered (and I've not felt that way for many years apart from demoing speakers). With guitar tracks it really...

Unfortunately given the rather dead-end route that customs seem to be, I doubt I can work something out with 64 Audio apart from simply purchasing a separate A18t new (ouch wallet). That's unless @64Audio has anything otherwise to add?

Wow. Didn't take that long at all to find a fellow fingerstyle guitarist of the same age range! I agree with you on the part of percussive playing, but I don't think that it's too hard to ask for that "zing" when it comes to acoustic guitars. Which 64a model did you get? Btw Kotaro Oshio's...

The Official 64 Audio Thread | apex & tia Technologies

As an acoustic guitar player, I can't shake off the slightly muted sound that the A18s delivers. It makes it much apparent that I'm listening to a recording, or at least sounds like the sound source is from behind a veil or curtain (try Calum Graham's 'Tabula Rasa' and 'Grace'). The heavy...

@64Audio I noticed some pictures of the universal 18s going around the forum. As far as I know these are supposed to be demo sets and not available for retail. How are these being circulated around, and is there ever a plan to release the A18s in universal form?

@xenithon, how have you been dealing with/working around this issue? You're essentially going open-bore now.

@xenithon, isn't it a little worrying that glue's all there is holding a bit of fine metal mesh from falling into the body of your $2k IEMs? I find it strange that significantly cheaper IEMs have much better solutions to this problem.

    ER-4P vs. PFE

I know I'm digging up an old post, but I can't help but put forth a suggestion regarding the soundstage issue that many have brought up. Has anyone tried openback headphones vs. closed back headphones? For those who have, I'm sure that you'd find that the open back ones have a bigger...

    SE420/530 v. er4p v. IE8

The ER4p is the definite winner in this case, at least for me. It lacks bass, yes, but just give it a little EQ when you need it. I use the settings below. Picture looks bad due to the massive resizing.
