They are absolutely worth this amount. I heard it about 10 years at a head-fi meet, and they are amazing. I think the rarity means that only old-school Head-fiers (~2006) recognise their worth.

Quick question for the wise Stax Mafia. I am thinking about getting the Stax SR-009. Where does the KGST sits in terms of ranking between KGSS Carbon, standard KGSS and the Stax made amps? I tried an SR-009 with blue hawaii years ago and it made a huge impression on me!

Does anyone noticed any issues with the Optical input for the M8? When I use the Optical output from the TV there's occasionally a <1 second drop out. Sometimes I can see "No signal" being displayed on the DAC, but it's not always. Replacing with my Chord Hugo works without any interruption, but...
