    The JVC HA-S500 thread.

I forget what my jvc's sounded like. I recall being satisfied, though they eventually broke on me. Now I prefer my porta pros to all of my various headphones under $150. I've wasted a lot of money trying to surpass my experience with the portapros. They sound great. I believe the ksc75 uses the...

    Hifiman IEM's: RE-400 and RE-600

Didn't knock on wood hard enough. Left earphone = dead. Strain relief came loose and i imagine the solder joint eventually just failed due to strain.

What Are You Listening To Right Now?

David Maxim Micic - ECO     I really enjoyed his Bilo 3.0 and discovered a few songs throughout Bilo 1 & 2 that I was eager for some new material from him. This year he released EGO which I wasn't quite as much a fan of, but then he also released ECO this year and ECO has caught my ear...

    Hifiman IEM's: RE-400 and RE-600

Seems to be a mixed bag on build quality. I'm at a bit over a year on mine. I do keep them in the case often, but I also end up sleeping on them at least once a week. Scratches all over the housing, but they sound as great as when I got them.    KNOCK ON WOOD

    W/Rap Sucks 2.0..............................Rap/HipHop Appreciation Thread.

I never felt the same about TPAB as I did GKMC. Felt like generic rap over john coltrane beats, although I will give his voice control major props. He really did use his voice like a brass instrument. Altogether, I just can't get into music for the sake of telling everybody how great you...

    Hifiman IEM's: RE-400 and RE-600

Acoustic music shows these at their best imho. Lots of detail to find in a warm sound.

Ah man, this guy has me into country. His sweet, sweet brand of psychedelic country.

    $150 to spend on IEM

You really can't go wrong with either.    I have the RE-400 and imo it is at its best when playing acoustic instruments. Not that it isn't also great for metal, hiphip, electronic, etc but it does an unbelievable job of sounding natural. It was subtle at first, but I fell in love with...

    Hifiman IEM's: RE-400 and RE-600

I recently purchased the flexible 45 degree jack version of the RE-400. As has been discussed a bit in this thread, I'm very curious if there is in fact a 3rd iteration of the design with better durability.   Thanks,   Michael

If you're digging some classic rock and are in the eargasm mood, can't do much better than Tales of Brave Ulysses.    Lots of Clapton has been making my playlist rounds lately.

    Hifiman IEM's: RE-400 and RE-600

As far as I know the new jack is still a 45-degree angle. Unless there are actually 3 distinct versions of the RE400 of course.

    Hifiman IEM's: RE-400 and RE-600

Unfortunately I already packaged up the stiff strain relief version. I could snap a pic of my new pair with the very flexible relief. What version do you guys have?

    Hifiman IEM's: RE-400 and RE-600

I just received my second RE-400 unit in the last couple of weeks. The reason for two: amazon screwed up and shipped me a previously opened unit with missing tips and scuffs on the housings. Kraft Audio made it right, offering a $20 refund if I reordered my pair through them.    Something...

    Xba-1 for sub 20 usd

As ZapX629 mentioned, nice midrange and lacking bass and treble. They are very fast though, and not too bad for some rock-n-roll. Additionally, they seem to be extremely durable.    Not bad for some throw around buds at that price.
