Im a long time lurker but new found head fi-er and im wondering if getting a set of xba-1s for 17 usd worth it?

I bought one for $10 out of sheer curiosity and was a bit disappointed in it. Imagine if I had paid $100 new... There's a nice midrange but the treble and bass fall off completely. What other IEMs do you have? What kind of music or sound signature do you like? There are a lot better options in that general price range.

As ZapX629 mentioned, nice midrange and lacking bass and treble. They are very fast though, and not too bad for some rock-n-roll. Additionally, they seem to be extremely durable. 
 
Not bad for some throw around buds at that price.

I paid $29 for a pair 12 months ago - I paid too much - extremely average - amazing when you think of other single BA phones that sound great that these were such a disappointment IMO.
