The Audeze LCD-2 Ortho thread (New)
Does the suction cause any discomfort? I've had headphones in the past do a similar thing and I find it causes me fatigue fairly quickly and makes longer listening sessions uncomfortable.- Moghedian

The Schiit SACD/DSD Research Thread--Your Chance to Win a Bifrost!
1. Are you familiar with SACD? DSD? I am not familiar with it. I've encountered it many times in passing online but never bothered to investigate as availability seems limited. 2. Do you own any SACDs? No my collection is 100% CDs ripped to FLAC or pure FLAC purchases stored digitally...- Moghedian

HiFiMan Introduces New HE-500 Planar Magnetic Headphones
Quote: Aha well put! and in response to detoxguy I received the new travel case with my HE-500s I didn't realise it was different to their previous offering - it really is a nifty little case. So far I'm enjoying my experience with these headphones, I've noticed a difference in the sound...- Moghedian

HiFiMan Introduces New HE-500 Planar Magnetic Headphones
It doesn't flow, it's semi-stiff in a plasticy sort of way which makes it hang akwardly and get in the way (brush against my neck / shoulders). It also has a flimsy look to it which I find fairly unattactive.- Moghedian

HiFiMan Introduces New HE-500 Planar Magnetic Headphones
Ordered these on Friday the 9th from Head-Direct and received them today :O Brilliant service. Build quality is surprisingly nice and comfort is good for such a heavy set of cans which is a bonus. Came with the extra pads and silver cable which though functional is already annoying me a bit.- Moghedian

HiFiMan Introduces New HE-500 Planar Magnetic Headphones
Quote: That of course would be the sensible option. However being sensible requires so much patience! I noticed that someone referred to upgrading to the Q audio cable earlier in this thread as being '~filterless'. Just interested to see what peoples experiences have been.- Moghedian

HiFiMan Introduces New HE-500 Planar Magnetic Headphones
Just placed an order for these off Head-Direct. I'm tempted to go straight for a Q audio cable. Anyone have some opinions on whether this would be necessary / worth it or will the stock cable be sufficient? Will be running Stello U3 > Bifrost > Lyr > HE-500.- Moghedian

Audeze LCD-3, LCD-2, and Grado PS500 added to web store
I noticed the LCD3 product page makes no mention of international orders. I'm assuming the free shipping / stand offer applies to US orders only?- Moghedian

New Flagship from Audio-Technica: ATH-W3000ANV, 50th Anniversary Headphones
Quote: This is my first pair of $1000+ headphones I'm pretty reluctant to permanently bend them straight out of the box. Plus I' don't really trust myself to do it because I don't know how strong / resilient they are.- Moghedian

New Flagship from Audio-Technica: ATH-W3000ANV, 50th Anniversary Headphones
Quote: That user is actually me and they have in fact only been used a few hours. As I stated earlier in this thread they sit uncomfortably on my ears so I havn't even had a chance to test the sound or burn them in because I simply couldn't stand the discomfort, after about 15 minutes...- Moghedian

New Flagship from Audio-Technica: ATH-W3000ANV, 50th Anniversary Headphones
Quote: I'm having trouble with this as well. The wings don't support enough weight and the headphone ends up being half supported on the top of my ears which is a bit uncomfortable :S- Moghedian

New Flagship from Audio-Technica: ATH-W3000ANV, 50th Anniversary Headphones
Well mine just arrived from Aiko store which was a surprise because they arn't even marked as shipped on their site :D They are absolutely as beautiful as I expected. I won't bother giving impressions particularly as my Yamamoto is still on order but so far I'm really pleased with them.- Moghedian

Where to Hear/Buy the Yamamoto HA-02?
Unsure about US suppliers but if you can't find any Yamamoto Sound Corp accept orders directly, you just need to go to their website and shoot them an email asking what you want. The downside is that its an eight week lead time as I understand it they don't keep stock but make them to order.- Moghedian

Schiit DACs (Bifrost and Gungnir down, one to go)? The information and anticipation thread.
Quote: I'm actually interested in this rather unusual comparison as well. I need a new source and I'm trying to decide if the extra money for a W4S DAC2 would be worth it over the bifrost which evidently punches well above its weight.- Moghedian
