I had a much more pleasing experience listening to music on the Zune than on the iPod (exact same library and quality of music). I found a big difference between the bass output from the Zune and iPod in that the iPod tended to sound less clear, and turning on the EQ would make it sound muddy...

x2 for the C551's. The bass is extremely well-controlled. I'm still burning mine in and can only wonder how well it sounds after that. The Denon's seem to be crawling higher in price. They're around $68 on Amazon now.

Just purchased mine off Amazon. For all of you who did the same, where did your product ship and how long did it take from order-to-home? I have a shipping estimate(not delivery) of April 14th!

Argh, well I had a great three months with my Vibes. I think the metal 3.5mm jack is the culprit. Sound doesn't come out until I hold the wire against the MP3 player at a certain length, and even so, no music comes from the left ear. I'm hoping the warranty will cover this and I can come back to...

My Zune does the same thing. If I place it in my jean pocket without a case, the static electricity builds up and I start hearing the popping noises in my earphones til' the Zune eventually shuts off. I'm on Hardware 2.0 as well, (You can find this info in the 'about' section in the Zune.

The d-pad on the Zune scratches extremely easy. I'd say it's as easy as scratching the faceplate of an iPod. Just about the rest of the Zune is pretty much scratchproof, though.

Works just fine with an unvalidated version of XP. I set everything up before I got my Zune, so all I had to do was plug in my Zune and let it sync over my music. Everything went smoothly.
