Basic Question on Jitter on PC audio
IMHO, jittering is a problem, it is there, I have no doubt about it. But in normal circumstances, its so subtle that you have to know what to listen for, otherwise you probably will never realise its there, for an average person like me anyway. Unless you have got a very bad system with a huge...- macbrush

New iPods don't work without iTunes?
You can simply set iTunes not to manage your music, or/and not import your music to leave them in where they're, just access them as necessary. You can also right click a song, and choose "Show in Finder" then it immediately takes you to the song file be it iTunes managing the files or not as...- macbrush

New iPods don't work without iTunes?
I used to be a hardcore manage-my-own-files head, and since I have seen my friend (a never-sleep Linux guru and a mastering engineer) smoothly and incredibly stupidly easily and surprisingly effectively uses iTunes to manage his thousands and thousands of tunes, I switched and never look back...- macbrush

Microwave or Wireless LAN? My wireless LAN interfere my amp, I had to put two sheets of tins in between my amp and the wireless access point to block off the interference.- macbrush

Question on HD650. Is it really that laid back and dark?
Luckily there is no tinnitus, not that I've noticed anyway. Just a slight pain located about 2cm deep into the ear canal, mostly left ear. I would probably go see my doctor if it doesn't go away in a couple of days.- macbrush

Question on HD650. Is it really that laid back and dark?
Thank you for all the inputs. I will probably go trying different amps (if I could find them locally though) and get one that suits HD650. I will probably keep them since I like learning to appreciate new things, and understand the appreciation others shown, especially extrordinary things...- macbrush

Question on HD650. Is it really that laid back and dark?
I have a AT-HA20, I bought it for burning in cans and cables, as well as its dual output for A/B comparison. But quality is nowhere near Woo3 with a set of good tubes. Any suggestion on a solid state amp that goes with HD650 in around $300 - $500 range? I mainly listen light music, soft rock...- macbrush

Question on HD650. Is it really that laid back and dark?
Thanks for your reply. Actually, you're quite right. I had to let out my Sieman's CCA tubes combo with a modern 6080 to make it sound okay, with this combo, I might just go with a solid state amp instead of tubes. With my usual favourite tubes, even with the telefunken ECC88, its just slow and...- macbrush

Question on HD650. Is it really that laid back and dark?
My friend works in a studio as mastering engineer. He kept telling me Sony sounds artificail, urging me switch to Senn for a more nentral sound. After years of convincing, I finally bought a pair of HD650, and picked up a pair of Cardas cables as well. I currently own a pair of CD3000, and...- macbrush

Do your friends drive you crazy?
Wait until your *girl* friend learned how to tell the difference between a pair of Monster cables and a pair of Siltech Paris reference cables by just listening, you'll know ignorance is preferred! There will be no way to hide!!!- macbrush
