AUDIOSENSE in-ear monitors Impressions Thread
Has anybody compared Shure SE535 to the Audiosense T880? I have the Shure IEMs and am pretty pleased with them, but curious if I am missing anything vs. the T880. I am especially curious about bass quality comparison.- kingcrib

USB DAC problem
I searched for an answer when I had the exact same problem with my iBasso D3 trying to connect to my Lenovo laptop with Win 7 64. I was led to this post which unfortunately did not help. In desperation I tried using my USB 2.0 hub (Amazon Basics model, not that it probably matters). Amazed...- kingcrib

Which amp for Beyer 880?
I have the DT880 250 ohm. To realistically stay in $250 budget, you should consider the iBasso D3. I use it with my laptop as source. You cannot use a bad source with these headphones, or you will not like the sibilance. Cymbals will give you a migraine. I find the DAC on the iBasso worth the...- kingcrib

All amps sound the same!
Stop making blind claims: both sides. I dare someone to do some honest double blind randomized controlled comparisons between different amps, connectors, whatever. You will have your answer after completing this testing. Until you do this testing your opinion is totally biased by your own self...- kingcrib

iBasso D3 Python as DAC
Does anybody have the iBasso D3 and a desktop DAC? Have you ever done blind testing between them? Could you tell? Background: I started with the iBasso D3 to replace my crappy computer soundcard and to use with Shure e500. Then decided I really needed some full sized circumaural phones which...- kingcrib

Modify Shanling PH100
Has anyone modified their amp to be compatible with 110V AC? This amp is supposed to take 220V AC. However, I can spy inside and see there is some printing on the PCB which has different options: 110V 120V 220V 240V. I realize I can just use a voltage converter, and that my warranty would be...- kingcrib

Best all-solution amp for AKG K 701
Thanks hoodlum. What do you think of the PH100? Is there power to spare driving your AKG K701? Like the sound?- kingcrib

Best all-solution amp for AKG K 701
I am also interested in the Shanling PH100. I have never seen any specs however. Does anyone know how many milliwatts this amp can put out? I want to drive my Beyerdynamic DT880 250 ohms. Any other competing solid state amps in that price range? I would like to stick to Class A discrete. No op amps.- kingcrib

AKG K701 improvement over Shure E500?
Just a follow-up - got the Beyer DT880 250 ohm. I am extremely satisfied. They are definitely worth the extra cash compared to the E500 and Grado SR80s. They are really a best of both phones. They are less fatiguing than the SR80s. I appreciate the forwardness of the Grados, but after 30 minutes...- kingcrib

What to Rip with?
I love Freerip. My CDs are usually pristine because: I never use them except when they were ripped, and I am generally a careful person. I am currently ripping them to FLAC using this program. I previously had my collection in high bitrate WMA, but decided to just do FLAC, though I am not sure I...- kingcrib

AKG 701 or DT880 to replace SR80
It seems your mission is accomplished - enjoy your D2000s. If you like these headphones, why do you feel the need to buy another set that will be like them?- kingcrib

AKG K340 Bass-Light Version modded by kt88 vs Beyerdynamic DT 880 Edition 2005/250 Ω : A mini review
Great review. Your knowledge of the English language exceeds that of the average American. Most people, sadly, do not have a vocabulary larger than what is needed to understand "American Idol". Most people have no idea what "conciliatory" means.- kingcrib

AKG K701 improvement over Shure E500?
Thank you for the input. I think I will stay away from the AKGs. But, now I considering the Beyerdynamic DT880s. After a lot of reading here at Head-Fi I think they be the best for my taste.- kingcrib

AKG K701 improvement over Shure E500?
I used to listen to all my music (using headphones) via Creative Zen Xtra to Shure E500 and also have Grado SR80 phones. I am now using the iBasso D3 with USB DAC at home. I love both headphones, and for portable use nothing beats the IEMs. For home, I am thinking of getting the AKG K701 to...- kingcrib

iBasso D3 - my experience with customer service
so, my first unit was DOA from static electricity, and just got my new one. It works perfectly and I am very pleased. What was interesting to me, was that the new one was packaged identically to the DOA unit. So, whatever they fixed in the D3 to prevent static from breaking it, was done...- kingcrib
