    I have had the JVC Flats for awhile, they arent full size, but they are amazing for the $20 bucks. I recently heard the ATH-M50's and wasnt immensely impressed. (thats how good the flats are)

    What about the Klipsch Image One? Those are closed and fold up nicely. They are supposed to sound pretty decent, although I can't confirm that. As a plus, I think either Future Shop or Best Buy sells them

    PLEASE PLEASE disregard ALL previous rec's sans the M50s.   The Senn HD428s are supposed to be good. Also the Grado SR60i are pretty much universally loved here.

    CD, but only if its around the same price as the iTunes copy. Some CDs in HMV are 18.99 compared to the usual 9.99 or sometimes even 7-6.99 in iTunes.
