First off, sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong area or anything like that.  Newbie here. 

 
I've been looking for new headphones for awhile now but so far I'm not quite sure what I need/want anymore.  I was dead set on the HD25-1's awhile ago, but most of them are about $200CAD at least.  My price range is basically $150CAD, which means about $130USD (gotta love shipping and customs).
 
I'm going to use them for both casual listening and producing a little.  I don't care about have super bass headphones or anything, I just want the sound to be clear (who doesn't? 

 ).  What models should I be looking at?

Get the ultrasone hfi 580 they are a hp that is driven easy meaning you can run these without an amp unless you buy some power amplifier thingys that isn't an amp to make them loud enough.
 
I have heard dt 48 k 701 hd 650 dt 880 dt 770, t50rp.
 
In terms of how clear it is yea it is very close or exact but my judgement of them is that it's clearness is like the same as dt880 k 701 they are an entry into audiophile kind of headphone.

I second the HFI-580. Very clear and sharp sound; though treble is a little too much before burn in.

HFI-580 are a great choice, and you can probably find some Audio-Technica M50 for about $150.

I can recommend the ath-m50s as well. I enjoy it very much. I've heard the hfi-580s and srh-840s are good too, but I've not heard them.

I think you should try Fischer Audio FA-003, they are well reffered in the forum, and many users describe them as being neutral, wich is good because it is more suited for a large type of music. Also this headphones are closed .

Another thing with hfi 580 as long as you use them with an amp it will get rid of this overwhelming bass as it makes it tighter.
