DIY PDA
What are you using for a processor? Are you buying a board or designing your own? No offense, but from reading your other posts, I don't think you have the skill/experience level for this. It's a very large project.- jar

y1 gamma-1 DAC
I'm going to need about 6. I bought a bunch of boards and front panels and the rest of the amb store parts for a group of friends and then the project got back burnered. I'm planning to order the mouser/digikey stuff in the next week or two.- jar

first diy dac
I suppose my opinion is based too heavily on my own prejudices. I find casework far more difficult and frustrating than soldering, so the fact that everything in the gamma1 is PCB mounted and that the custom panels are available makes it an easier build for me. Also, I feel like the Alien...- jar

first diy dac
AMB's gamma1 is IMHO the best first DAC project. It sounds much better than the Alien. I built one of the prototypes, and AMB just released the PCBs today. Unfortunately you just missed the group buy on case panels.- jar

PPA vs. Ray Samuels Emmeline HR-2
You also may want to consider the Sigma11 power supply for your PPA. I don't know if anyone has done any STEPS/Sigma11 comparisons yet. I'm going to build a Sigma11 for my M^3 eventually, but that's a ways off.- jar

Can you solve a Rubik's Cube?!?
One of my friends in high school was flirting with breaking the minute mark. He once got told to move along by a Swiss policeman. He was solving the cube in a busy train station, and drawing a crowd that was starting to block things up.- jar
