Ok, so had my black player for a couple of weeks now...love the little guy!...no hissing, no cracks (hope i'm not jinxing myself!)....Had a question: Has anyone experience any negative fallouts from tampering with the volume...y'know doing the volume override, so that the player is louder...

Martin, will have to get back to you on that one as am not in a very quiet environ at the mo...but yeah so far i have not heard any noise outside of when the player is booting up, and occasionally when it is not playing but i am flicking around tracks

Ok, so I am keen to get a NW-HD5, and with still no word on a US release date, i am thinking about buying one off ebay that gets shipped from Japan. Has anyone had any experience with this kind of thing? Will it all come in Japanese and give me all sorts of problems? ...would i unquestionably be...

please forgive my ignorance...but what does a pocket/portable amp do? does it just make the player louder?

not planning on staying with MD...just meant that i would want to put a lot of my music, which is only on various MDs onto the HDx player...

ok, so a follow up would be...how would i do that? Also if i am planning on buying one of the HDx series, will i be able to record from MD to the HDx?
