    Why not just put the $200 or so into upgrading your cans? To me, going from hd555 to hd600 without any external DAC or amp made a big difference. Which then you can further improve the HD600 by adding in DAC and amp later down the road and it will scale nicely.

    my $0.02 I would suggest you save up and get the HD600. Just to name a few major factors I noticed, It has much better bass, more revealing and better instrument seperation compared to the HD555 even UNAMPED. Of course the HD600 will sound even better with an amp but to me it made my HD555...

    Come on, All their albums are pretty darn good! Resistance is my favorite because its quite new, but I usually just shuffle through all their albums.
