    Information on DEAFIDELITY DSD2

The DAC arrived today. Nicely built. My laptop recognized it immediately as an amanero combo 384. Listening to some Elis Regina on it to warm it up: The beauty of this thing is that I can connect it in place of my Lampizator Atlantic without changing any settings. Very happy so far!

    Information on DEAFIDELITY DSD2

I have just purchased one of these brand new for $49 including shipping, via Amazon. Last one they had at that price. It has now gone back to $105. What attracted me to it, is the Amanero USB implementation which allows DSD native up to DSD256. We'll see if it lives up to it's expectations. I...

What is the best DAC I can buy (Used or New) for around 2K

Congratulations on the purchase! Did you order the standard Atlantic or did you add options? Coincidentally, Lampizator announced a high end version called "Golden Atlantic" today. Prices have not been revealed but I wouldn't be surprised if they hit $10K or so. Way beyond my budget even...

What is the best DAC I can buy (Used or New) for around 2K

It was out of my price range also. My original budget was around $2500. But I went ahead and stretched it to get the Atlantic, and I am glad I did!

There is a dedicated Lampizator thread at Audiocircle.  Your analog setup is very nice. I still listen to needledrops (digital transfers) I made years ago of my best LP's played back on my VPI setup. With the Atlantic, they sound as close to the real thing as I have ever heard!

Found a service that will Convert my SACD collection to DSD

Sounds like a great deal! Is he using a PS3 to do the ripping? I believe there's a new method but I am not familiar with it...

What is the state of MQA and would it influence your decision to purchase an expensive DAC today ?

The best R2R DAC's available today are based on discrete resistor arrays. These are implemented using ultra high precision SMD resistors that were simply unavailable in the 1980's and 1990's. Hence the old monolythic DAC chips necessitating laser trimming of their ladder networks to prevent low...

    Fidelizer appreciation and impressions thread

That's absolutely true. This computer works so well that to me, it's not worth "upgrading". It runs cool and the fan is barely audible. I hate fan noise with a passion! And it is so compact I can put in on the bottom shelf of my audio rack and open the clamshell with no problems. I have it...

    Fidelizer appreciation and impressions thread

Well surprisingly the old Netbook works great for me. It even processes DSD up to 256K in native form, which is amazing. The issue here is more modern versions of fidelizer. It doesn;t seem to work right past version 3.0. And with my new DAC, even version 3.0 is causing problems with gapless...

    Fidelizer appreciation and impressions thread

I am using Fidelizer 3.0 which I realize its ancient. Does Fidelizer 7.4 work well with an older processor? This machine runs Windows 7 Starter, and the processo is a first generation Atom.   I'm afraid that if I upgrade to a later version it will cause problems.   Let me know if this is...

    Fidelizer appreciation and impressions thread

I've been using Fidelizer 3.0 for years on my older Netbook computer. Later versions have caused choppy playback which I am assuming is caused by the old Atom processor not being able to keep up. Version 3.0 in audiophile level worked pretty good. Until I upgraded to a Lampizator Atlantic. This...

What is the best DAC I can buy (Used or New) for around 2K

I have been turning it off after each listening session. Never been too comfortable leaving tube equipment on all the time. Even modern stuff..

What is the best DAC I can buy (Used or New) for around 2K

I was blown away by it. Dare I say better than my now departed VPI turntable/Dynavector combination which I thought was untoppable. Rediscovering all my recordings right now. Even good old 44.1 kHz sounds fantastic! Since the R2R processing is so good on the Atlantic, I see no need to...

    Resonessence Labs Concero discussion/review thead

You can use the Apple remote for that. Or like I do, using an Apple Remote APP emulator on a smartphone with IR blaster.   R2R and "Ladder" are the same thing, by the way...

    Resonessence Labs Concero discussion/review thead

It is very hyped indeed. And to think that very highly regarded traditional R2R DACs were pretty much worthless and obsolete not so long ago. Consider that Schitt's main guy Mike Moffat thinks the Burr Brown PCM63 was the best DAC ever made.   I have just upgraded to a very expensive DAC, but...
