What is the best DAC I can buy (Used or New) for around 2K

It was out of my price range also. My original budget was around $2500.
But I went ahead and stretched it to get the Atlantic, and I am glad I did!

I just killed my budget and wallet and also purchased an Atlantic.

Congratulations on the purchase!
Did you order the standard Atlantic or did you add options?
Coincidentally, Lampizator announced a high end version called "Golden Atlantic" today.
Prices have not been revealed but I wouldn't be surprised if they hit $10K or so.
Way beyond my budget even with their trade-in policy.
I am really happy with my standard Atlantic. I don't see any area where it could be improved, quite honestly. And the huge tube rectifier sticking on the top would not fit on my equipment shelf either....

You might very well be correct about the Golden price

I added the superclocks, balanced and rectifier options. I wasn't bothered about the rectifier, and I'll have to rearrange the audio equipment to make it work, but they had one ready to ship in that config...

Can't wait to give it a try. Will also be very interested to see how it compares against the much cheaper McIntosh D100 DAC.

Congrats!

Rob is a great guy to deal with the customer service is as good as the product. When my LampizatOr komputer had a hiccup I dropped it off at his house and he fixed it the next day. I shouldn't have messed around in the advanced menus :disappointed_relieved:

He even offered to drop it off (35 miles away)

Would be nice if it could be done via a firmware update.

subbed to this...also in the market for DAC in this price point.
My friend has the Wadia 122 and loves it  http://www.wadia.com/en-us/products/di122

I'm also considering the chord hugo2 or sim audio 280D.

Benchmark Audio DAC2 or DAC3 https://benchmarkmedia.com/collections/digital-to-analog-audio-converter.

The DAC2 HGC is a Stereophile class A+ recommended component.
