HiFiMAN HM-801 Player Firmware Debug Thread

Was wondering if anyone has faced this problem? For some reason my HM-801 can no longer read my flac files unless I change the extension to .fla instead of .flac.

Updated: HifiMAN HM-801 Portable Music Player Preorder

Aye, I'm blessed indeed to be able to afford both an imod and the HF 801. Yes, soundwise I have no regrets doing the upgrade but I definitely did not know about or expect the amazingly large adapter. My plans to carry the HR801 on trips went pretty much out the window... oh what the hey... maybe...

x 2. When I went for a short trip overseas, I had to use my trusty imod instead because transporting this giant heavy adaptor defeats any portability the all-in-one unit offers.

Same here. I always charge mine while it's switched off. Sometimes 2hrs or less does it. The lack of an indicator was unsettling at first though. I mean, it'll be hard to tell if the adaptor is faulty or if the player's charging component ever gives up. It's not as if thhis non standard adaptor...

the Audiologists impressions thread (pun most definitely intended ;) )

For anyone in Singappore, looking to get your ear impressions, do check out ACE Hearing Care Centre (ACE Hearing Care Centre - The Official Site of Hearing Aids) Friendly, professional and painless. Followed the tip sheet exactly and I didn't even have to show the tip sheet to him I...

HiFiMAN HM-801 Player Firmware Debug Thread

Yes it would be great to see progress on the firmware. For me, 1. Going to to Albums or Artist section triggers the updating message, followed by a "No file found" error. This happens on my 32GB card but my 8GB card works fine. The files are largely the same ones, so I think it's not a matter...

    Speakers that sound like UE10

I may be asking for the ridiculous but has anyone heard speakers that sound like the UE10 pros? I don't mean comparison via freq response charts but through actual listening. I've been listening to the clean sounds of these IEMs and find myself wishing there was a speaker version. I've not...

    e500 burn-in time?

Well, when I first received my e500s, there were a few track where I thought the highs were a bit splashy and sibilant. But several days into it, either I got a better fit playing with many of the different tips or simply got more used to the sound, it kind of went away...

Looking for Porta Corda MkIII-USB feedback

Do you mean static when changing the volume? I put my E500s on and turned the volume repeatedly but couldn't detect any. As usual with such volume pots, there is a slight channel imbalance at the very low volume setting but at low gain, I'd have to be a bat listening at ridiculously low volumes...

Is the iMod worth the extra $199 ?

To answer Jayjayz, yes, to me it's worth it. I have a very minimal standard for Music (although that didn't stop me from spending loads )... So long as the sound passes a minimal standard, be it mp3 or lossless, I'm fine with it... I listen mostly for enjoyment and relaxation.. I took a...

Looking for Porta Corda MkIII-USB feedback

I've just had mine for a few days and am very happy with it. I can't compare it with other portable amps as the only thing else I had was the PC mkI. I find mk3 to have slightly cleaner and better sound and the low gain setting certainly helps with low impedance phones! So far I've only used...

    TECH+LINK RCA-to-RCA interconnect

I bought both but have only connected the mini to RCA so far for slightly more than 1 week. I used to to connect my PC to amp. It was audibly a step up from the generic cable I previously had. Sorry I can't post detailed comments as I did not take the time to do indepth comparison but my...
