Some people already said that the A30 series sound equal as the zx100, so if they changed something about the A40 than it will probably sound better
i doubt that very much ...the A30 will be closer to the A15 in sound which i have

I don't think so, at most, a40 would be close to f800 or f880, even better than nwz-x1000, but no where near nw-zx100, nevertheless, a40 will be awesome value for money and will sound significantly better than any phone (apart from dp-cmx1) or iPod

a30 already is much better than f800 and f880 and very close to zx100

While a40 sounds quite good
I doubt it sounds anywhere near nw-zx100, it's like a vw golf gti (a40) vs BMW m5 (nw-zx100) in performance, the components used in nw-zx100 including os-con capacitor, circuit board VIA hole is filled with copper, isolated power supply, machine milled aluminum chassis, makes the difference in sound quality, hence why prefix nw is defined as audiophile grade, wm as flagship perfectionist, a as high performance

I don't know if you know but the A30 and A40 series have the NW prefix

The A30 is measured way better than the A15 and A25

Measurements on paper doesn't mean much if it can't be measured by ears. My A15 sounded very similar to my ZX2 which I sold in a blind test.

well you get my point, the budget sound dap all sound very good and the premium price of 1k for the WM1A just doesnt scale with cost. I just wanted to say that the difference between new walkmans is pretty small and compared to older models even at a higher price point they sound very close.

nope you can see that it will use the wm port in the instructions! but its not outdated, jeah its kinda a bummer that it is special but for me its no problem
Why do you think it's not outdated?:) it's huge and not convenient!
