Silly Yggdrasil question
Anyway... Will the Yggy output to both the RCA outputs AND the balanced outputs at the same time? It would be nice to hook up both my speaker preamplifier and a balanced headphone amp simultaneously. Thank you.- finleyville

Speaker x-over question
Anyway... I will be building this x-over for a Dayton 2-way bookshelf found here. I am assuming that the "ri =" notation below all the inductors is the inherant resistance within those coils. Is this correct? HOW IMPORTANT is it for me to not only match the L of those coils but also the...- finleyville

DVD Mp3 playlist creator?
Anyway... I found a program that enabled a user to burn hundreds of songs onto a DVD disc and then allowed playback by using burned playlists. You could even have the same song in multiple playlists with no problem. A car DVD player would read one playlist then "find" the songs thereafter. I...- finleyville

DIY RCA starquad configuration question
Anyway... I need to build 4 pairs of RCA patch for my car install. The lengths will be from 3 in. to 6 in. long each. They are running from an Alpine processor mounted right next to both amps. I noticed that the DIY cable tutorial and most cable builds use a whole piece of starquad for...- finleyville

DIY RCA shielding questions
And yes, I searched first... I will be making multiple RCA's for a car audio install. Since there are many interference sources I plan on using the Carare starquad cable and grounding one side of the metal shield. To save space and money I plan on both left and right channels per single...- finleyville

Jazz trumpet recomendations please...
Anyway... I am looking for new (to me) jazz/fusion trumpet artists, specifically, something along the lines of Maynard Ferguson. The style should mostly be high energy, full range (i.e. a screamer), non-big band arrangements. It doesn't have to be new. I love Miles, but I am looking for...- finleyville

HELP with malware and IE
Anyway, I do not know how it happened, but my internet explorer acquired some malware. Often it will try to open new windows to nowhere then close them. My status bars will lose its settings often. Anybody know how to do it for free...- finleyville

EAC/LAME quality question
Anyway... I use EAC/LAME to rip my CD's at --alt preset extreme. On about half the tracks (especially my trance one's) I notice a hissing or a static sound associated with some instruments on a track. So I re-riped a particular bad track using --alt preset insane. While that did help a...- finleyville

Question to all iHP-100/120/140 owners
Anyway... So I am starting to get familiar with my newly purchased iHP-120 DAP and have a couple of questions. The documentation is spotty at best, and I cannot figure out how to select some play modes. I have made some playlists with the winamp player and wanted to listen to them shuffled...- finleyville

How do you organize music on your PC?
Anyway... So I just bought an iRiver iHP-120 DAP and am about to download my Mp3 collection onto it. I have about 650 songs total. Unfortunately, only about 15 are from any single artist and most of them are one-offs. It seems sort of pointless to have a separate folder for every artist when...- finleyville

Ripping hidden tracks with EAC
Anyway... So I want a specific hidden track off one of my CDs. However, there is 3:00 of silence before the music starts at the beginning of the track. Is there anyway to skip those 3:00 at the beginning with EAC? If not, is there a free (yes I'm that cheap) program to what I ask? Thanks for...- finleyville

optical input for portable amp?
Anyway... I know that this sounds like total overkill, but is there anyone selling a portable amp with an optical input? How difficult is one to add? I am interested in an iHP-100 DAP which has an optical line out. I'll only be using the setup in stationary situations where the difference...- finleyville

iHP optical line out? firmware updates?
Anyway... Looking at the features/differences between iRiver's iHP-100/120/140, I noticed that the "official" website shows an optical out for the iHP-100 but not -120/40's. Does this mean that the newer offerings do not have this output? Or is it just overlooked? Creating a trans-portable...- finleyville

Help me choose a DAP
