The Cure Broadcast
The setlist is similar to the one they played at Coachella, except with more from the new album. We did get Charlotte Sometimes, though I think I'll pass on Curiosa. Nevermind the fact that I may be outta the job in the next few weeks--haha. If it were just a regular show and not a... -

Best and Worst Remake of Song:
Frente's cover of New Order's "Bizarre Love Triangle" was pretty horrible, as was Orgy's version of "Blue Monday." Guess people shouldn't cover New Order -

The Cure - Never Not too impressed with the new album so far, but I've only listened to it a few times. Needs a few more spins before I can really form an opinion. -

hey all. anyone hear of these guys? i found them on a listening station at tower records while i was waiting for them to put out the new cure album. they're the most interesting band i've found in years. the singer reminds me of les claypool at times. -
The Cure - The Cure (Impressions)
Not completely off-topic, but has anyone heard the "Lost Wishes?" I have the four tracks but they're not the highest quality (ripped from tape). Hopefully Smith will put them on the extra disc when Wish is re-released... -
The Cure - The Cure (Impressions)
Awesome, glad you like it. Hopefully people will post reviews here. Personally, I'll give it at least a week before commenting, just because I like to give music a good number of spins so it can really settle in. That's just me, I guess. For example, I thought WMS was great at first, but... -
The Cure - The Cure (Impressions)
Going to Tower Records tonight to pick up the new album at midnight... can't wait! I'm not expecting much but hey, I'm still excited! -
The Cure - The Cure (Impressions)
Personally, the Cure had an amazing run of 3 albums in which they could do no wrong. Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me, Disintegration, and Wish. While the latter had some severe tracklising problems, and should've dropped one or two (maybe three) tracks in favor of some vastly superior b-sides, those... -

The albums that really matter
And how can you forget the Cure's "Disintegration?" We can't forget the goths... Actually, maybe it would be more appropriate to step back a bit further and choose "Pornography." Gotta have My Bloody Valentine's "Loveless" on here, and maybe Sunny Day Real Estate's "Diary." I think... -

Need recs: Birthday/Fathers Day present for my dad
Give him something a little different and try to surprise him, maybe go beyond what he's used to listening to. I strongly suggest Jeff Buckley's "Grace." That album is insane. He's got an amazing pair of lungs, and his music is amazing too. -
Looking for music suggestions
I second the Doves album. Though I believe it's called "Lost Souls." In fact, I think I'll listen to it now You might also want to check out a band called "Ours." -
Please, surprise me.
Hey Bong, I first saw Cranes when they opened for the Cure on the Wish tour. At that time they hadn't yet recorded "Forever," but were playing some songs from it though. My buddy has a video tape of a Cure show where Cranes opened for them, but Alison was sick or something and couldn't sing... -
Songs You've Been Activating Track-Repeat For Lately
The one that's been repeated the most in the last few days has been "If She Wants Me" by Belle & Sebastian (off of the album "Dear Catastrophe Waitress"). -
Please, surprise me.
Rap? Check out MC Frontalot. You can grab all his stuff online at his site (frontalot.com). As for something out there that'll knock your socks off, check out the album "Wings Of Joy" by a band called Cranes. I first heard them back in '92 or '93. They've been kicking my ass ever since. -
Jeff Buckley-- Grace remaster coming...
To me it would be excessive if stuff started repeating. If it's different material then I'm all for it. In fact I wish more musicians would do it. -
Need help--album cover
What better place to ask for help regarding music than at head-fi? Okay, here's the deal. There was an album released in the mid-90s (I think) that had a funny cover. I can't remember who it was. It was pretty cheesy. It showed a girl in a bikini, but it was digitally edited so that the... -
IMPRESSIONS: Morrissey - You Are The Quarry
After the first listen I wasn't terribly impressed, but after a few spins, I really like it. A lot. If you remove a few tracks and replace them with two of the three B-sides from the current single, it's a darn good album. Morrissey has gotten more lazy over the years I think. I think this... -

Cure remastered/expanded editions coming from Rhino
I saw them at Coachella at the beginning of the month in Southern California. It was pretty cool. I wish they would've played some more obscure stuff--or B-sides--seeing that they just released their box set. Still, they played four new songs, so that was cool. -
Cure remastered/expanded editions coming from Rhino
I believe the set you're talking about is called "Happily Ever After," if I'm not mistaken. I also believe that there won't be many (if any) remixes; the bonus discs will include demos and previously unreleased stuff. I can't wait. I'm going to be broke, but I can't wait.
