Dynahi PS + smoke = BAD
I suggest you to lock the 4 ICs (2 lm338s, 2opa541s) to the L bracket first, then attach to psu pcb and solder them last. Its a not bad idea to lock part on HS first, then solder it to PCB to make sure perfect contact between part and HS.- sft

Difference between Dynamight and Dynamight Sig?
Every amp is custom-built so far, so it's hard to answer your question, but i'm sure $1000 difference is too much.- sft

Best 'Semi-Affordable' Balanced HD650 Rig
From tech. view: M3: one active ground channel for left and right channel. (to stablize "ground signal") Bal. M3(precisely speaking, bal. M2): two active inverter(amplify) channels for left and right channels(to pull diaphragm...) Does it sounds better? who knows.....it's a subjective...- sft

HeadAmp GS-1/Reference compared to Veda/SFT Dynahi?
That's reasonable. It's possiable to lower futher output impedance by choosing output transistors and following the origianl feedback. Thanks for your reply. ------- OK, this is the result for dynalo psu: +/- 16.4V, gain=9X No load, max output swing=5.8V rms dummyload= 51R//91R...- sft

1]the silicon wafer + compond is not a good idea. 2]It looks like something wrong with the amp unit. try to resolder two 500R, clear pcb carefully then solder again.- sft

some suggestions 1] test the psu with two 10K resistors as loads to see if the psu is OK. 2] erase the heat transfer compound under silicone wafers.(amp unit)- sft

Many Dynahi related questions - Help!!
That's all Kevin's fault because he forget to lay the position for power-on indicator LED. just kidding... seriously, Dan have done a great paper work for dynalo, this is unselfish and geat work IMO. i learn a lot from that and I think it's very helpful to build dynahi.- sft
