Fake AKG headphones from Amazon?
Quote: I bought a pair of k271mkii headphones, for hearing myself play piano. They have their flaws for music-listening, sure, but they're exactly what I wanted. Most music sounds pretty great, actually. Not much fatigue, and the velour pads are quite comfortable, which are the two...- sourced

Fake AKG headphones from Amazon?
I've been searching around for a pair of monitoring headphones, and I can't help but wonder if some of the products I see on Amazon are fake. (N.B. The headphones are sold by third parties, not by Amazon itself) As I'm not especially familiar with these headphones (and their general market), I...- sourced

Eating Healthily
The easiest way for me to cook vegetables is to stir fry. I don't have to worry about recipes since it's always the same (I don't mind monotony in my food). I have a wok, so I put in peanut oil, add vegetables, add soy sauce, and eat with rice and sriracha sauce (hot sauce). Most solid...- sourced

Got scammed by a 500+ head-fier what a shame
Quote: Who are you to say he's a thief? I'm not convinced. A mod might be able to help restore contact between buyer/seller and resolve the issue. How would you feel if you didn't respond to a buyer's PM for a week, and they decide to post your personal info and call you a thief?- sourced

Block-All-Sound Earplugs?
Quote: Yes. What I was trying to say was that even with no music, office chatter is muffled significantly (as long as they're not right next to you). I usually can't make out the words, so it's not distracting to me. With (quiet) music on, I really am oblivious to most...- sourced

Block-All-Sound Earplugs?
Quote: JH16s on order? You might want to just wait for those: isolation isn't bad on my JH13s, drowning out most office chatter. Even the quietest music makes me oblivious to most conversations. Do you think they won't be enough? I certainly don't think they're dork-mode, if...- sourced

Why do singers/artists wear IEM's?
Quote: A wireless monitor system. Something like this. Basically a little radio receiver that is linked to a transmitter in a rack somewhere. You usually can't see the 'bodypack' or whatever it's called. If you've ever seen microphone systems where the speaker has to wear a little...- sourced

Block-All-Sound Earplugs?
Agreed, foam plugs would probably fit the bill. Just make sure you insert them correctly (deep enough). If you're willing to go full dork mode and (combined with earplugs) hear the deafening silence of blood rushing past your ears, ear muffs are probably the way to go. Do it.- sourced

Why do singers/artists wear IEM's?
Quote: To add, some drummers play along to a click track to keep proper timing (see the 5th paragraph), which as far as I know only require headphones when playing live. I have no idea if Portnoy uses a click track in any situation.- sourced

Why do singers/artists wear IEM's?
Realize that IEMs are in-ear monitors. Wikipedia has a pretty good explanation of stage monitors / in-ear monitors. Basically, in a world without monitors, when a musician is performing, the main sound system will completely drown them out and they won't be able to hear themselves: the echoes...- sourced

Almond Joy or Mounds?
Quote: Wikipedia tells me they're quite similar, where a red Bounty is basically a Mounds (conveniently also sold in a red wrapper), and a blue Bounty is an Almond Joy sans almonds (which comes in a ... yes, blue wrapper). I've met a lot of people that can't stand coconut, but...- sourced

You have 10 minutes to live...
Knowing me, I'd probably spend 3-4 minutes just scanning my library looking for a certain something but not quite finding it. Then I'd decide to listen to Jimi Hendrix (Little Wing) one last time, and finish up with Flaming Lips (Do You Realize?). -
JH Audio JH-13 PRO impressions thread
Well, I got mine yesterday. These are small! Pictures make them look big. I think the fit is good. My ear was hurting a bit yesterday, but I think that's because I wasn't inserting them correctly. When the instructions said "quarter turn forward" I thought it meant with respect to the axis...- sourced

Headphone stores in Orlando, Florida
JH Audio is based in nearby Apopka, but they're not really a store. Maybe if you buy a pair, they'll let you see how they're made or something (it's a business, not a museum). It's possible (though I have no idea; you could search around) that they have universals to try. Maybe not, though...- sourced

How do you like your cereal?
Quote: Yes. Skim milk, maybe 30 seconds of contact. Skim milk is great for those first 30 seconds, but by the end of the bowl they're soggy. I'll put it this way: x = time in minutes, green is skim, purple is whole milk. Whole milk won't get things soggy, but it's just not the same...- sourced

Almond Joy or Mounds?
I like to bite off the almonds first, one by one, when I eat an Almond Joy. I like both almonds and dark chocolate, so it's really a toss-up. Both are awesome. I don't really eat candy much anymore, though.- sourced
