Just listening to Qualias tonite with the Bakoon... so fast, so precise. Don't have any e-stats but from what I read these might be closer to that experience

    Nice, appreciate the post. I haven't found any issues but perceive a slight level differential from my XLR outputs.. 

Does anyone use both the DA8 outputs (XLR's and RCA) to separate components?   Have mine going to two amps using one at a time for A/B'in. Sorry if I bumped this subject a bit..   Thanks

Happy to share for sure.. got a feeling you are at the number crunching stage?    I do not have any amp upgrades, mine is just the basic version. Can't imagine I'm missing too much, this one sounds pretty terrific to my brain. For me the most significant detail was that the Japanese version...

  Just replaced the Stello HP100 with the 5210.. and IMO turned out to be the most significant upgrade for my TH900 to date.. I use the Yulong DA8 DAC and PureMusic Audio for Mac.. 

 

So it depends:  Voltage sounds more solid state like with succinct treble qualities and I prefer this for my Qualia 010;  current output drives my Fostex more tube like which is rather nice ... 

   + 1  It's immediately obvious with my TH900

Regarding my TH900, I read here earlier that one of the common ways to improve the Bakoon 5210 gain potentiometer resolution was to limit the DAC output volume. Is there any noticeable impact to the SQ doing it this way?  I am waiting for the amp delivery and have been thinking about this...

  I have what I believe to be a medium headband and its fit is rather loose. If you have the option go with the small size. I use a soft cloth headband (like you see in workout videos) that fits around my Q010 with just enough pressure to seat the earcups in the correct position. 

  I've given some rare thought to this quest and have decided to abandon the CD3000.  Time to restrain Sony's magical powers and look elsewhere for audio enlightenment.

Yes, have the same issues with the Q010. The fit sucks. I have a loose sweatband I wear over them to 'enhance' the experience.... 

So if I were to choose a contemporary to the CD3000 what in your opinion comes close to it's sonic signature? Denon?

Can someone tell me how to determine the size of the headband? When I bought these qualia 010's , it did not come with the original box. Also, I can't see any markings that might give me a reference.
