Is there a circumaural set that sounds relatively similar to the ER-4P? The HD650 has too much bass and the K701 has too much treble. I've tried the DT880's in the past and couldn't stand the treble spike on those, either. Any recommendations?

Which of these devices has a more powerful headphone output?

I need a player that's about five or ten decibels louder than a Creative Zen, for use with high-impedance headphones and non-dynamically compressed music. Can anyone make any recommendations short of getting a headphone amp?

Is it possible to use a voltmeter to volume-match headphone outputs? I have HD650's with the removable wire. If I put the red thing on one pin and the black thing on the other pin and play a test tone, will this be a meaningful way of matching outputs between two devices?

The left channel of my HD650's is clearly louder than the right channel, even if I reverse the headphones and change sources. What might cause such a problem?
