The left channel of my HD650's is clearly louder than the right channel, even if I reverse the headphones and change sources. What might cause such a problem?

I've gotten new cans like that a few times -- I always return them for exchange or refund, as "defective".

This problem "developed" recently. The right driver is 5-10 decibels quieter, even if I reverse the cord. What might cause something like that?

One driver may be partly blocked due to physical abuse. Have they fallen down recently?

Edit: Actually, it's back about 1/4th of an inch farther than the left one.

Is any other high-end headphone as easily disassembled as the HD650?

Well...maybe...yes - if you are careful, you may be able to "plopp" the transparent plastic thingy back into its designated place. I once did the same successfully with my MS1. A really frightening job, but better than new drivers. You better use broken toothpicks (or alike) instead of fingers.

The whole housing for the driver was dislodged. I just pried the grill off and put the driver housing back where it belongs. Everything is just held in place by friction.
