Best to recable. Most of the 1/8 to 1/4 adapters are cheaply made and become defective after a dozen inserts. I like to use 3 conductor 22AWG "rotor" cables as single sided headphone cables or RCA plug cables as split cables and terminate with a quality 1/4" plug. I can't believe I am recabling...
