Xin Version 5??
He must be in 'research mode' because he sure isn't building my amp. Before I ordered it in early January I emailed Xin to ask him (from the horses mouth) how long it would take...two or three weeks was his reply (flat out, bald-faced lie, but I made the mistake of believing him as I'm pretty...- chuckles

I sold it all for the V3-O Darths
Nice snag spaceman! Those are beautiful cans and the red leather is indeed gorgeos! And speaking of cans, the boobie connection had me cracking up!!! Now you can REALLY snuggle up with those at night with the lights off for an...ahem...extended "listening session" But in all seriousness, you...- chuckles

The Shrink is on the case! I could say that if it's music I enjoy, I'm all over it like white on rice. If the music is completely off my screen, I could possibly appreciate the technical skill, but more than likely I'd be looking for the Exit sign. -
The one song that for you, changed everything:
Grateful Dead - Dark Star It's not a song per se, but when I was in Kindergarden my Mom gave me Meet The Beatles when it first came out, and even though I was pretty darn young at the time, it shaped the course of my life, musically and in a thousand other ways. I remember the occasion of her... -

Zappa, yes indeed! I might as well say it if nobody else will, Jerry Garcia - but then my musical tastes lie strongly in SF Sound and the 60's/70's Golden Age of Rock. Let me also add: Jorma Kaukonen John Cippolina Ralph Towner John Ambercrombie Neil Young Stephen Stills Al Dimeola... -
What Are You Listening To Right Now? [#6]
My Generation, The Who 9/26/69 Concertgebouw, Amsterdam. About 3 minutes of My Generation which then evolves into a 7 minute romp through a medley of Tommy themes. Killer! Sound quality of the recording is A- but the performance is splendiferous. -
Anyone here check out Wolfgang's Vault?
If they start a download program, that will be AWESOME! Some incredibly classic shows on there!!! A buddy of mine who has a particular interest in Fillmore East reels met with the tape archivist over at WV and got a tour of the place, said they have 2-3,000 reels If they get that show on... -

Been listning to CSNY 6/6/70 Fillmore East lately and Neil Young's The Loner>Cinnamon Girl>Down By The River medley is freaking awesome! If I remember correctly this is the performance that made it onto the bonus tracks of the 4 Way Street re-issue along with Daivd Crosby's Laughing, also from... -

HF-1's Hurting My Ears....
Nick, if you're thinking about sending them to Larry, consider the C-Pads. The Beyer velour pads solve the problem quite nicely, plus you can tune the bass by unplugging the ports, if'un you want to mess with it. I think the C-Pads are a great solution. I have no experience with bowls. Sounds...- chuckles

HF-1's Hurting My Ears....
I have found the C-Pads from Larry to be very comfortable. That, plus bending the headband to relieve any excessive pressure should do the trick very nicely. Mine have leather ear pads, but I think the velour ones would be even more comfy.- chuckles

BeyerDynamic confort
I will also add that my Darth Beyer's were unbelievably, supremely comfortable, and light too. And apart from my old Senn HD480's, which I have owned since time immemorable, I have had no other headphone experience to compare from.- chuckles

post pics of your headphone set up and listening area
Here's my setup. Still a work in progress as I either have to drag a chair over to the headphones or use my current cheapo headphone extention cord to reach the couch (usually the latter)- chuckles
