  Very true. Within the recording studio you can easily add effects, yet it is hard to add 'emotion' (or talent, though even that's up for debate).   Now comes the uploading of ~60GB of music files to the internal memory (for starters). Tom Petty is right, the waiting is the hardest part :(

Agreed guys, and we all know those caps take time to fully burn-in. i remember panicking a bit when the Sony NW-ZX2 turned 'ugly' with sound after buying it and at 20 hours or so.   Excellent question and did 'direct' on both and also with some EQ on both units depending on what i was analyzing. Used the Sony stock app on the ZX2 and not one of the two fave Android apps for library sort / sound customization. Noble K10 were TRRS so same cable both units as the new Sony...

I'm waiting for at least 100 hours of headphone use before commenting. These portable players need time to settle in imho. I do agree the output can be enhanced to higher level via tweaks.

No worries, I tend to work 16 to 20 hour 'shifts' so have done the same thing.   Sorry the M2 didn't work out for me, just not quite 'ready' for prime time imho. Am sure the upcoming M20 will be a more finely polished unit and look forward to giving it a try.

The FiiO X7 just arrived here and after talks @ TAVES they said they want to add the Google Play store. I did listen to the X7 during the show and feel it is best to get a review sample and let her burn through 100+ hours before really diving deep into the review. Solid build and relatively fast...
