How are these(codex)for gaming? If I have a supported dongle on my pc does anyone think aptx is good enough or is there still too much lag with non proprietary wireless headphones?

What are your thoughts on the power output compared to the m8? I emailed Michael and he gave me a vague answer that said "power should not be a problem since it's the same amp as the m8". But power does matter. Or is it so close that it's a non issue?

Do you notice a difference in the power output with the skyn compared to the M8?  Trying to figure out if I can sell my m8 for the dacportable since it is smaller.  I only use the dt990(250) and the he400 from hifiman.

The hifi-m8 has more power doesn’t it?  775mw vs 1.4 watts on the m8 right?  I use mine only for my phone but if those numbers are not correct I will consider selling my m8.

So did you completely remove the lips from the front case or just make them not as deep?  Also did you just fold those clips in on the back case?

That's what I ended up doing. I did the front and back since I destroyed both haha.

Yeah that's what I was thinking.  There are 3 on the sides and 2 on the top and bottom correct?  Maybe flatten 2 on each side and one on the top and bottom.

I managed to find someone at work that would trade their 7th gen 160 for my 6th gen 160.  I also managed to butcher the hell out of case opening it up.  I ordered a new one but dread the fact that I may need to open it up again in the future.  Is there something I can do to this new case that...

Does anyone know if the 5.5g is known to not auto power on when connected via the dock connector?  On my 6th gen it will automatically turn on when connected to my car system.  The 5.5g I just upgraded to a 256gb sd will not turn on and connect to my car unless I press a button on the ipod.  

Thanks again.  One last question.  The center button, is that attached to any part of the clickwheel?  If the mechanism on the button itself is broken what needs to be replaced?  I see the link above has a replacement cover so I am just making sure.

I am having a hell of a time trying to get Tarkin's sd adapter to work.  Sometimes itunes will see but will fail during restore.  I initially tested a 64gb card I have for my camera and got it to restore on my girlfirends laptop.  Mine kept failing.  Ordered a 256gb pny card and can't get it to...

How is the volume controlled on this? Through iphone volume buttons or a separate dial?

Yeah that price is ridiculous. I ordered the iflash from tarkan. Going the 256gb sd card route. $140 total so not too bad.

I managed to get my hands on a 5th generation ipod 60gb.  It’s a fatter case.  From the looks of Tarkans website I should be good to go.  Any recommendations on hard drives?  SSD or is there any standard hard drives available anymore?

Unfortunately I don't think rockbox is an option.  My primary use for this ipod is in my car which has a usb input.  The car needs to recognize it as an ipod.
