Are my speakers destroyed?
Here's what I think is the general consensus on HiFi two channel speaker classifications and associated costs. It seems relevant considering some of the prior posts in this thread: Entry Level $500 to $2,000 Mid Level $2,000 to $5,000 Hi End $5,000 to $15,000 Ultra High End > $15,000. And there... -
Second Amp for HD650
So, I'm thinking a bout a secondary bedside system consisting of a HD650/600 and an amp. Any recommendations? Here are some considerations: Would like to buy used But not old (<3yrs) Price <$400 I prefer tubes But tubes are not required If I DO get a tube amp, I'd like to leverage my...- peter_josephina

6BL7 Tubes?
While not a common tube, I have read that this tube will work well in many designs. The problem of course is the limited supply of good NOS American made tubes.- peter_josephina

Stupid Baseball Questions
So, I'm primarily a hockey fan, followed by college football and basketball. However, I'm from Detroit and so, am now following MLB a bit closer. I watched a National League game last night and have the following questions. 1. Why do pitchers bat like they do? I've never played fastball...- peter_josephina

How do you remove the metal screen on the K1000?
Sorry I can't help you but, please do some searches on re-cabling or hard-wiring the K1000s. I just can't remember where, but I've seen step-by step articles. Of course the removing of the screens would be of value to you. Good luck. BTW, were they like this when you bought 'em??- peter_josephina

How do you remove the metal screen on the K1000?
Although I've never done it, my impression from many articles, posts, etc. is; if you thought getting 'em off is hard, wait until you try getting 'em back on! Think about getting a can of compressed air first and giving 'em a good blowing. You won't believe the junk that comes out (uggh.)- peter_josephina

Who listens to MP3 players?
Maybe it's an age thing. I'm 38, two small boys, two dogs and a house. Last year I used a small radio while doing the lawn (NPR) but always felt like someone was sneaking up on me. Other times in the yard, I just like to listen to "nature." Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE music...- peter_josephina
