So, I'm thinking a bout a secondary bedside system consisting of a HD650/600 and an amp. Any recommendations? Here are some considerations:
 1.
 2. Would like to buy used
 3. But not old (<3yrs)
 4. Price <$400
 5. I prefer tubes
 6. But tubes are not required
 7. If I DO get a tube amp, I'd like to leverage my collection of 6SN7s & 12AU7s
 8. I'll only be using one digital source
 9. Replaceable IEC power cord would be a nice option
 10. I listen to almost anything except Rap & Meavy Metal (I'm too old)
 11. All other genres listened to performed acoustically primarily
 12. Size not important
 13. Portability not important
 14. Reliability important
 15. I don't want anything that needs aftermarket modifications
Thank you in advance

thanx guys

Music fidelity 3 tube amp seems to be popular here. The EC-1 with the damper mod (is included on request) really kicks the 650's into high gear.. The Ming 66 is great for the budget 325.00.. SR71..

You might also find a WooAudio 3 in that price range - it's great with Senns, as is the XCAN v3.

Have you consider the Darkvoice 336? It also uses the 6SN7 tube for signal.

If it was me I would take a hard look at the Hornet. That way it could double as a portable too. Just a thought.

I have a PPA on sale with the external STEPS linear regulated power supply. Competes with commercial amps in the $500+ range and is within your budget. <oh the shameless plug>

I am currently using the PPA with HD650. sound about 85-90% of my Dynahi. very very good tight defined bass.
