Apologies, if this should have been posted somewhere else. The wheel of my X1 is broken. Turning it doesn't make the cursor move slowly through the control icons, but rather it jumps through. The device is fairly new, no more than a year old. Plus, I take good care of my stuff. Tips, pls?

NAD Viso HP50 : Another superb headphone from Paul Barton?

Bear with me, English is not my first language, but I'll give an explanation a stab... Here is an illustration representing the original state.   Metal headband (orange), ear cup arms (purple), and wire (green) are all aligned in a squary arc.  Notice the clips (light blue) that anchor the...

NAD Viso HP50 : Another superb headphone from Paul Barton?

Yup, when I tried bending the stock headband.  I didn't know the innards back then.  When I lost contact between the left and right cup, I sliced the leather band open and saw the wire scratched at that point.  The wire inside is super-thin, it is very vulnerable where it comes out of the inside...

So, ummm... I modded the headband using Howard Leight shooting ear muffs I got on sale from Amazon... [ http://www.amazon.ca/Howard-Leight-R-03318-Leightning-Shooters/dp/B001DZX86O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1428187136&sr=8-1&keywords=howard+leight+L3 ] With the $20 bonus from Amazon Visa...

You had reason to feel hesitant.  I tried to make the top of the headband more circular, and in the process broke the internal wiring -- 0.75 mm thin wire.  I also managed to crack the inside plastic clamp that held the sliding part to the headband band itself.  The clamp was clipped to the band...

This is how I intended to rectify the disconnection between the left and right channels without opening the cans or soldering.  Do you think there's a chance this will work?  If this will work, any idea what sort of 3.5mm jack I should look for? Thanks in advance, folks.

Could it be because yours had the left-right cable intact?  Mine was broken.  No connection between the two cups.

NAD Viso HP50 : Another superb headphone from Paul Barton?

My HP50's headband was twisted, something fell on it and in my attempt to fix it the sliding part snapped. I've been messing around with this 'phones a lot, maybe that contributed to the damage.  I was able to put the headband back together to acceptable and decent shape. However, the fine wire...

I am currently having a lovefest with my Havi B3 Pro 1, but never enjoy the Havi without an amp. This, to me, was too good to be priced so low:    http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=108&cp_id=10823&cs_id=1082303&p_id=8320 I believe it has been updated to this: ...

The wood look stick-on left a bit of glue on the corner of my X1, but I easily removed it with a damp q-tip rubbed onto a bar of soap.

I am soooo tempted to bend the headband at the top so it is not so squarey.  I know the seal might get affected, but if it does then I would replace the headband altogether.  How I would go about doing that, I am not sure yet.   "We don't care about your lifestyle, we care about your ears"...

    Review: NAD Viso HP50

Same here.  I have the Grado SR80 and ATH-M50, absolutely loved them.  "Loved".  Past tense.  After getting the HP50, my SR80 and M50 find themselves in the closet. (I asked my nephews if they wanted them, and they asked me back if I have Beats.  I disowned them -- my nephews, not my SR80...

Being a Novice (with a capital 'N'  :-) , I thought HP20's sound maybe inferior to HP50's considering the former is ie and the latter an oe?  Oh, well, I am eyeing a pair of ZH-DX210 Carbo Basso at amazon.ca.     Peeps from Canada, any recommended ebay or amazon vendor?

Thanks, elvergun.  From reviews here about Carbo Tenore, they seemed to be what I'm looking for.  Then after reading dsnuts' comparison of Carbo Basso to JVC FX3X, which I have, made me think twice.  Now I can't decide, but I'm leaning towards Basso so slightly.   Oh, man.  Now I understand...

My ears measured tip-to-tip are 2 11/16" (68mm).  I didn't even know my ears, lengthwise, are bigger than the inside of the ear cups until now after I measured.  The tips touch the cups but still very comfy I can wear these cans for hours.
