I`m waiting on a new DAC/Headamp from Apl hifi (Alex Peychev) which I think will crush my Mytek+Taurus combo

Aftermarket cables experiences with the LCD-X ?

I think I`ll go for an APL hifi DAC/Amp for my LCD-X, the Mytek and Auralic Taurus are good, but there`s better for them :)

I`m using Artemis cables Bow(all silver) Medusa (12x24 awg leads) UP-OCC silver with my LCD-Xs, it opens them up and cleans things up and makes everything more real and liquid :)

I see Anyone know where I can read some impressions of the new 2A3x4 and the 445 then?

I`ve also read it`s a different beast than BA, but it costs only $ 50 more?

So 2A3x4 is the same as the 2A3 mkIV? I thought it had 4 output tubes and a new power supply?

What are the preferred amps for the LCD-X? I`m looking at the WA22, GS-X mk2, EC balancing Act with the new transformers, ECs new 445/2A3x4/Leviathan

I got the impression the px4 was the best tube before, but now? I see it still says on the EC page that there are 300B/px4 version, but here people say you now must decide on the version, 300B OR px4? The bass was also earlier the caveat for some, so now the BA has gotten it right?

Has anyone tried the new version (cinemag transformers) on the LCD-Xs? And if so, can anyone compare the impressions to other headamps?   Ragards,

How would you rate a full on NOS tubed WA22, the GS-Xmk2 and a EC Balancing Act with the new output transformers on the LCD-X?

I got something to think about now ;) But GS-Xmk2 is difficult to get a hold of? And at least impossible to try here in Norway....

Have you heard the fully nos tubed wa22 and gs-x mk2 on the lcd-x? they got more treble and are more punchy in the bass :)

VERY interesting :D A fully NOS tubed WA22 will quicklu become more expensive than the gs-X mk2 also. Something to think about as I`ve been reading som many good things about the WA22, but I love the controlled bass on my Taurus mk1, but would like a warmer and "closer" midrange and more...

I`m waiting for my LCD-Xs and contemplating a cable upgrade quickly (artemis cable Bow (UP-OCC 24 awg silver, medusa version (12 strings) :) I also run the Taurus mk1 balanced from DAC, and to the HD800s now, but I saw the power graph of the Taurus and it has about a 4 Ohm output on the XLRs and...

What output works best from the Taurus to the LCD-X? 1/4" has more power than balanced, but power isn't always everything :cool:

Any impressions of the Q cables vs stock cables? I`m researching the aftermarket cable scene for cables for my soon to come LCD-Xs :) As of now I`ve read good things about Double Helix Complement2 cables :)
