The 3's work well in that department

I don't think the bass is light on them at all. I've got 2 sets of baddy headphones and the 4's have bass when it's there. They are quite tip prone but if you get the seal right, you're in business. A revelation to me was getting replacement wires without the memory wire. Maybe I'm thick and...

Great for movies.... I have the 4's too and I can't make my mind up which one I prefer

I find COMPLY tips work best on the 3s.... timbre is better, bass is fuller and they aren't harsh at all. I've tried spinfit, spiral dots etc and the best results are with comply tips that can be purchased at radio shack. Hope this helps

I like spin fits on my 4's and jvc spiral dots on my 3's...
