Audeze LCD-4
Thanks for the reply. i had it changed to 230V ;) speaking of V280/v281, I wonder anyone here in this thread tried op-amp “rolling” with it? stock opamps are ne5532 x2 (input), and ne5534 x 4. they are known to be warm & tubey sounding. I am thinking maybe something like Burson V6 vivid can...- Lawrenceho

Audeze LCD-4
Anyone here knows whether violectric v280 accepts both 115v and 230V? The one that I own got a “115v” label next to the IEC. But user manual and website say 115v/230v. I am so confused.- Lawrenceho

[help] violectric v280 input voltage
Hi all, I have got a v280 that has a 115v sticker next to the IEC input. However, both user manual and official website say it is 115v/230v. In addition I don’t think their online store provides voltage options for buyers to choose. Any one here can confirm whether this amp take both 115v &...- Lawrenceho

Audeze LCD-4
Same here. What I recall is the 2 had more bass (2nd order distortion?) but with the 4, it was quality of the bass that wow’ed me. So meaty, deep and layered.- Lawrenceho

Audeze LCD-4
Care to share the details? Like the model of cable and shielding? Neotech makes upocc silver cables mainly for internal wiring. Those would be too stiff to be used as headphone cable.- Lawrenceho

Audeze LCD-4
Hi all, (update on 24/2: I brought my 4s to the local distributor that provides demo units for audition. Spent an afternoon there switching between Jot, Ragnarok and Burson CV2. IMO, LCD-4 sound warm but a bit too intimate with Jot. Lacking resolution and separation. Soundstage also not as...- Lawrenceho

He-400i or T50RP mk3 which to start modding journey with?
A detailed and helpful comparison! Hat’s off. I am now leaning toward T50RP after thinking through your comment. In fact I was about to get a he400i originally because it is on sale at a local store (~130usd). However, it is true that there isn’t much tutorials online, meaning I would need to...- Lawrenceho

He-400i or T50RP mk3 which to start modding journey with?
I have become highly interested in headphone design recently and believe it is easier to start from modding existing headphones in the market. Reason of picking either he400i or T50RP is that I want something which its performance scales up nicely with effort put. In addition, if the modded...- Lawrenceho

As much as I want to continue this discussion by telling you I do not own any samsung products, it is a topic completely irrelevant to this thread, in terms of context & background. Massdrop x Airist Audio R-2R DAC: A Discrete Resistor Ladder DAC For $350
When designing a new product, one of the fundamentals is to study available, similar products in the market and benchmark them. And R2R has an extremely small market. I found it very difficult to believe they hadn’t heard about sosolar’s work over years of R&D, until 2 days ago. It is so...- Lawrenceho

Received my DX50 this afternoon and have spent couple of hours with it. Compared to the HDP-R10 I used to own, Dx50 is less dense and less smooth in vocal. Sound stage is good but 3D imaging is weaker than HDP-R10. The sound from Hi-hat is somewhat too "sticking out" to my ears. Extension of...- Lawrenceho
