any ideas on an lcd-x distorting on bass impulse?

I have had this issue. I tore up cotton balls into long smoothish strips and stuffed the inside of the cup until little pulled the fazors away. I used 4 cotton balls I belive and did not notice any change in sound.

I sent mine in for a clicking driver. Anyone know if they give you new drivers with rmas? I liked the old drivers.

I have a "normal" head and ears and without putting a little bit of cotton under the pads.

I don't know about the amp but they are pretty forgiving.

hey everyone,  i already sent a ticket to audeze but my right driver is making a soft clicking noise even when there is nothing playing. when plugging my hd598 into my centrance which is what my lcd x is in there is no popping, any causes of this?

Nothing. The 100 price bracket of then is the 200 price bracket now. That's being harsh and I know there are some good offerings at 100 now but in the last few years prices have seemed to go up on a lot of things.

With certain songs I have a hard time distinguishing between 190 and 320 even at times. Ex. evenescence. I have heard they have poor production though. However with others such as pink Floyd or assorted acoustic music I can easily tell. Any brief explanation as to why this may be?

Honestly that is a great amp and dac for the x. I have that as well as a highfi m8 and notice little to no difference between the two until I start playing with the treble and bass settings on the m8. The odac combo is a nice neutral presentation with low distortion and plenty of power for the x.

The highfi m8 is great with it.

Nice to see I'm not the only knob hogg.:) and that is a nice graph. I also like the small bump below 50hz.
