    Creative G5 discussion and reviews

Rule of thumb is the output impedance of the amp should be no more than 1/8th of the headphone impedance. In theory it should be better.

    Creative G5 discussion and reviews

(Double posting from the E5 thread, not sure how much traffic intersects between the threads.) I don't really understand why console VSS was omitted from the G5, aren't surround formats just decoded within software? Does creative have an official response on their reasoning for the omission...

Creative Sound blaster E5 - Headphone amp + USB DAC with OTG + Toslink + aptX + recording + more.

I don't really understand why console VSS was omitted from the G5, aren't surround formats just decoded within software? Does creative have an official response on their reasoning for the omission? I really feel like it was to give the x7 an extra defining feature, which is dumb may I add. They...

So close yet so far, just wanted something I could use for the PC and PS4 interchangeably to get VSS at a higher quality level than the mixamp.

Creative Sound Blaster X7 - Detailed Review & Impressions

Is the g5 basically suppose to be the x7 without the amplification for speakers? Looking for a virtual surround option for the ps4 and want something a bit better than the mixamp. I'll be using the Fidelio x2s with a boompro mic. Basically between the x7 or waiting n the g5. Thoughts?

High end headphones that are more forward sounding?

Don't touch my sound stage! lol but yea I think there will always be a place for a huge sound stage but it has to be done correctly. When I say that, I don't mean that everything should sound super far away but that everything sounds layered and has a clear point of spacial reference.

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

Well once you go beyond the $300 headphones, IMO, you're going to get rapidly diminishing returns. It's either going to be small improvements here and there or simply a different sound.   Would you say the X2's bass is a significant improvement over the 770 pros?

    Well that's subjective..

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

Are the X2's bass meaty enough to replace dt770 pro 250s? X1/X2(s) have interested me for a while and I'm tempted to get them. I've been wanting a pair of opens.

The Hardest hitting Headphones are.. ( "The EXTREME BASS Club")

These cans will primarily be used for gaming and may possibly take the place of my dt770s for music if I like them better. I would say I primarily listen to rap/hip hop/r&b/edm. For the other less bassy genres, I'll likely get another pair with a different sound signature. Moving from the...

The Hardest hitting Headphones are.. ( "The EXTREME BASS Club")

Anyone know what kind of bass I can expect from the Fidelio X1/X2 in comparison to the Crossfade M100s (likely with XL pads)?

[GUIDE] Sonic Differences Between DT770-DT990 Models & More

I don't like on ears and I have mixed feelings in regards to what I've heard about the X1s. I've been considering the HD600s as well, I'd like to somehow demo the HD600s and the HE-400s with the hybrid pads

Yea from what I remember the 80s had a bit more bass quantity while the 250s had more sparkle in the highs. I actually had to EQ them a bit which is why I figured I couldn't handle the highs on the 990s. Yea I love me some bass but I've kind of given up on it. Felt like I was chasing a pair...

[GUIDE] Sonic Differences Between DT770-DT990 Models & More

Anything in the sub $350 range that has a similar sound signature to the 770s with a neutral mid range and a tighter/more impact-full bass? I don't necessarily need forward mids but I don't want them to be distant either

Does anyone have experience with the dt-770 250 pros and the HE-400s? I currently have the 770s and am looking for another pair of headphones.  I enjoy the bass of the 770s so am looking for something similar as far as bass quantity and extension. If I wanted anything else from the low end it...

[GUIDE] Sonic Differences Between DT770-DT990 Models & More

Do you think the dt-770 250's and the dt-990 250's sound signatures are different enough to warrant owning them both? Looking for something with a bit more bass punch, something more fun to switch with every once in a while. Currently own the 770s and magni/modi stack

Headphone Recommendation - Similar to Dt770s

I currently own a pair of dt770 pro 250s that I'm using with a schiit stack. Love the setup; no regret but still room for some improvement. So first off what I'm looking for:   Something with forward bass and mids with more rounded off highs. What I'm trying to improve upon about...

The Nameless Guide To PC Gaming Audio (with binaural headphone surround sound)

Creative uses some dolby codecs but it doesn't use dolby headphone. They utilize SBX instead. The thing that throws me about the SB X-Fi software suite is that it doesn't have to be processed through a dedicated dsp like with sound cards. Normally, the problem with usb audio devices is...

The Nameless Guide To PC Gaming Audio (with binaural headphone surround sound)

Well I'll keep searching to see if maybe someone has tried it. That's another thing I liked about the Razer Surround software, it drops a dummy playback device on your system. If anything, maybe when I get the schiit stack I may just pay the $30 for the suite to give it a try. If I do I'll...
