Little Dot Tube Amps: Vacuum Tube Rolling Guide

I'm thrilled that so many of you are pleased with the 6CB6A tubes!  I'm happy that after a decade of forum lurking I was finally able to contribute something to such a great community!   After reading many posts here, I believe I'm going to break down and buy a few 6N6P tubes.  Is there a...

Little Dot Tube Amps: Vacuum Tube Rolling Guide

Quote:   Gladly .  I bought my tubes on ebay from desireme1979.  I just looked at his store and he currently does not have any more GE tubes, but does have a few Raytheon 6CB6A tubes.   Also, there is an interesting...

Little Dot Tube Amps: Vacuum Tube Rolling Guide

Quote: Apologies.  I will try my best as I have never attempted anything like this before...   Compared to CV131s, the treble presented is much cleaner and detailed without much sibilance.  Vocals really shine through.  Bass is present and not muddy or overpowering.  I get a wider sense...

Little Dot Tube Amps: Vacuum Tube Rolling Guide

I bought these little guys a few weeks ago and after 50+hrs of burn in they have replaced Mullard CV131s as my default "go-to" tube.  I have not read much of anything about rolling with the 6CB6A series of tubes and they can currently be had VERY cheap.  I received both of these for $5...

Little Dot Tube Amps: Vacuum Tube Rolling Guide

Any opinions on 6CB6A tubes?  I just got a deal on 2 GE NOS tubes that was too good to pass up and am curious if anyone had any experiences.  Been using Mullard CV131's for a couple of years now and am thinking it is time for a change...

    The Beyerdynamic DT880 Discussion thread

I absolutely am in love with my DT880's, but the stock wire leaves a lot to be desired... it looks so thin.  Are these worth recabling with canare or mogami mini quad wire?

    What's your foobar2000 setup?

Quote:   You might want to check out foo_playcount.  Keeps track of when each file was added to the library, how many times it has been played, when it was last played, and a 5 star rating system.  http://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_playcount

Why do 99.9% of ipod users use the apple buds?

The iPod ear buds come free.  Also, when all most people listen to are low bitrate top-40 hit mp3 that have probably been transcoded multiple times from some generic p2p program what difference can you really tell with higher quality headphones?

Total newbie. What cable to buy?

Quote:   1/8 inch just came in.  Just a little bit too small for the 2893.  For anyone interested, looks like 1/4in.  is the correct size

    Leckerton Audio Slimline UHA-4

I'm glad to see that Nick at Leckerton is still producing dac/amps.  I bought a UHA-3 2 years ago and still love it!  Looks like I could expect the same build quality out of the UHA-4...

    The Beyerdynamic DT880 Discussion thread

Quote: I've had the Little Dot MKIII for 2 years now.  I received the DT880 600ohms for Christmas.  These two sing together.  Mind you, I have rolled to Mullard CV131 tubes but I have used my stock EF95 tubes and they sound amazing with the amp too.  I listen to a lot of live soundboard...

    Little Dot MKIII with Grados

I love my MKIII with my SR-225s! You are not going to be able to use an external DAC for your iPod. A LOD or your Pro-Ject dock will be sufficient.

Lets settle this: Where do you stand on Grado?

I have owned a pair of SR-225s for the past year. Recently, I recabled them and ordered a headband and wooden cups from jmoney audio. This is the only pair of "high-end" cans that I have ever owned... but I love the quality and the look. I mostly listen to late 60s-70s rock music and love the...

    post your grado mods....

My SR225's. Cups are Bird's Eye Maple from JMoney Audio. Recable was done with cryo treated Mogami 2534 Neglex, wrapped in black nylon sleeve, with a Neutrik NP3XB plug. The nylon was a pain to pull over the cable but I managed. This was my first Grado mod and it really cleaned up the highs and...

What Are You Listening To Right Now?

Dave Matthew's Band - Live at Red Rocks I've never listened to them before as the Starbucks crowd has turned me off. I never expected them to be really talented and this album is actually enjoyable.

    Grado Help

I just replaced the plug with a Neutrik NP3X-B and this has fixed my problem. Thanks for the help! Also, the two blue wires are groud, red is left, and white is right. I wasn't expecting the wires to be color coded.

    Grado Help

Hello all! I purchased a pair of Grado SR-225s in June 2nd-hand and have absolutely fallen in love with them. Unfortunately, however, something has happened to them and is causing the left ear piece to cut in at out. When the cable is slightly moved at the strain relief, the left channel cuts...

    Which MP3 hard disk player?

I have and use a Nomad Jukebox 3. Everyone makes a big deal over how nonportable it is over the iPod, but I manage just fine. The NJB3 fits fine in my pocket and is not as heavy as the iPod. The quality is amazing, I noticed no clicking or any other noise that I have heard in other mp3 players...
