Irdial-Discs downloadable catalog
So I found this several years ago when reading more about The Conet Project, and I remember it about once a year. It might be of interest to some people here. Basically, Irdial-Discs operates under an open content, or free music philosophy, which seems to be modeled somewhat after the GNU... -
ok now that my can rig is where i want it i need to rise to a new level of sounds
If you like piano, check out Abdullah Ibrahim. I don't know much about him, but I picked up his latest album, "Senzo," recently, and it's an excellent album. I'd like to know more about it, because it sounds like it was recorded in one long take. Each song runs into the next before you're even... -

help! need to replace silk screen on grado's
I always thought the preferred replacement material for those screens was pantyhose. I don't know how well it works, since I haven't used it before, but I plan to on my K340s.- soMn

What Are You Listening To Right Now?
Singles Soundtrack (Heart - Battle of Evermore). I ran across this disc last night and hadn't heard it in years. Some really good tracks on here. -
What do you think about while listening to music?
I have to say all of the above, and a lot of times it depends on why I put the headphones on in the first place; whether I'm taking a break, or listening to something specifically, or for a specific purpose, etc.- soMn

Help with Windows XP (DOS), please?
the recovery console works a little differently than a standard command prompt in XP, with limited commands, and it may also may make what access you have to the HD read-only. I don't remember that for sure, but it wouldn't surprise me. here's MS's page for the recovery console with descriptions...- soMn

beets, liver, and some really stinky cheeses. I've tried, especially for the cheeses, but these are the only three things I don't like to eat.- soMn

Toughest headphones?
A friend of mine has been DJing for some 10-12 yrs now, and he swears by Sony MDR-V6s. He described them once as the Technics SL-1200 of headphones; consistent, reliable performance and built like a tank. I've never owned a pair personally, but I've listened to his, and they felt very sturdy and...- soMn

Pronunciation of Aenima??
I wondered this same question for a couple of months after the album came out, then decided it was dumb to make up words with vague or ambiguous pronunciations/meanings and have just called it "enema" ever since. I don't really get names like that, which have no real connection, other than... -
Hip-Hop/Rap Fans - Whats your fav song?
Common - I Used to Love H.E.R. Even though it's been done so many times since, when he gets to that last line, "cause who I'm talking bout yall is hip hop," I just smile every time because the whole track is so clever. -
Vinyl introduction

Blank media
well, it's really more that only one system is tied into the pc, so occasionally I just want to burn a new one rather than go and dig through boxes of CDs that I packed away. but I'll check out that Taiyo Yuden as well, thank you. -
Blank media
Is this the wrong forum? what's the best blank media to buy for burning from flac to an audio cd? and for that matter, what's the best drive to use? I still have an old Plextor 8x from '01, (among others) that I use for music burning now because it has been so reliable, and at slow speeds it's... -

Wireless router
from my experience of setting up wireless routers for a major big-box electronics retailer, linksys tends to have the best lifespan of the major brand routers. they all seem to suck in their own way, but linksys less than the others. the only brand I don't know much about, but was always...- soMn

Swiss Army Knives and Leatherman Tools
My favorite Swiss Army knife is basically either the Tinker or the Classic, but it's about 20 years old and has the BSA emblem opposite the Swiss Army emblem. I also have the PC Repair knife (can't remember the name) that my girlfriend's dad got me for Christmas one year. Although it's too...- soMn
