Monarch for me

Seconded, the bass is plentiful enough for me with the monarch, even almost border of too much. The sub bass is pure bliss with the monarch. Tried with cranberries twenty one, the monarch's bass is just awesome.

Dont get me wrong. The monarch is still a beast among iem, even comparable with some thousand dollars iems. Detail and separation is one of the best, the ananda cant beat the monarch. i think the monarch is one of the best value mid-high end iem.

I aware of the difference, just a simple comparison. Each one got its own strenght and weakness. Still, very satisfied with the monarch for commute and ananda for home use.

After 1 month with ananda, I want to write my final impression and compare with the monarch. Simply say, the ananda is almost perfect neutral. the high is present but not piercing. Mid kinda forward, but not much. its smooth, but not 650 smooth, better than the monarch. Bass not punchy, but...

I wanted to buy upgrade cable for the ananda. Which material is better? Copper or silver? I prefer the sound signature does not change much with the new cable.

Got my ananda for around USD 480 brand new from shenzhen audio store with 11.11 sale. Time to retire my fidelio x1 and hd 650.

From memory, i think the s8. Its more airy, but got even thinner tonality than the monarch. However, the size is not much different. the monarch have a decent size stage for an iem.

They are spinfit cp100 M size. I went to shenzhen audio store and the clerk confirmed it. Bought the L size, since the M size kinda loose in my ear. need some time to get used with the L size, its quite large and may not fit for some.

I also agreed that the monarch got enough bass when needed. Not as punchy as the clair, but its deep. Like having full size subwoofer in my ear. I also dont need the adapter, as the monarch is already very good sounding for me. If I want to hear more musical sound, I just put my hd650. 1 thing...

I think the twins are like 1 level above the B2, tonally and technically. The monarch technical ability is atleast 2 levels above. the bass, i think the clair is more controlled than b2, with maybe same punch. The monarch however is less punchy but more deeper. tonally, the clair is smoother...

Sorry, but i want to ask about the 1010 size. Can you help me measure the width inside the foam, can it fit 7.2cm? If not, I might need to buy 1020 type. your qudelix size is 5.2 cm, while my fiio is 7.2 cm. I dont think there are extra 2cm width space there?

if you connect it directly, maybe it didnt get enough power to drive it properly. The clair is harder to drive than the monarch. Even with the monarch when I directly plug it to the ps4 controller, the clarity and imaging is fairly reduced compared when plugged to a proper desktop/mobile amp.

I dont believe in burn in either. I agreed, its more like our brain getting adjusted to new sound signature. Burn in imo, is a placebo... unless like the qdc anole vx that can change sound signature by the switch. I already tested it in the shenzhenaudio store, the sound signature changed.

update with the monarch. Watching movies with it, I can feel the atmos effect. although the stage is not wide enough, but the effect is very good. same with gaming, I can hear all the surrounding sound, especially from fps games like CS go, COD mw and apex. The monarch even sounds good enough...
