If you truly want help spending $500 send it to me buy a bifrost. I like it, but FWIW it's my first and only DAC.  Will you be using a computer as a source any time in the future? You could save $100 and get the Bifrost without USB.

If you goto razordog deals and contact the owner he can probably get you under $400 on the Senn HD650s.

Received my bifrost and Asgard today, to match my senn hd650. I have one disappointment... I didn't bring the stack home with me tonight. This is my office setup and all I want to do is listen right now. I also have some anxiety... Should I have popped for the Valhalla instead?

Static does increase with volume.  I'm using a Schiit Bifrost and Asgard now.  I'm going to find my disks to try it again... I'm betting it's the source rip.  

Ill check tomorrow to see if static increases with volume. It feels like something isn't able to resolve all of the sounds that are recorded.

Not sure if this is the spot for my question as I'm not sure of the source of my issue.     I'm currently running MOG on a Mac Mini directly to the Sennheiser HD 650s.   The basic problem is that I'm hearing some faint static in the background while listening to System of a Down...
