Hi! I have a couple of the nice headphones, a cd player connected to a speaker amp, so the only RCA output of the CD player is engaged. I have an NuForce HDP connected to the coaxial digital out of the cd player. A Schiit Vahalla head amp to be delivered soon. I prefer not to connect the HDP RCA output into the Vahalla. Should I add a DAC or get some other source component? Or simply a splitter for the cd player RCA out? I also use an notebook computer file as source too. I also thinking about getting a DACmagic plus or the DAC from Schiit. Your advice?

If you truly want help spending $500 send it to me buy a bifrost. I like it, but FWIW it's my first and only DAC.  Will you be using a computer as a source any time in the future? You could save $100 and get the Bifrost without USB.
