The Official Beyerdynamic T1 Impressions and Discussion Thread
Quote: Interesting, I have always seen some odd reviews of the K701, in which they are described as warm. Not that I am disagreeing, they don't sound warm to my ears.- delusionist

The Official Beyerdynamic T1 Impressions and Discussion Thread
Quote: I think the treble is just right for me at least. They appear laid-back to me (though this is not the case) because I have many bright headphones. But yes, the T1 is far less bright than the K701/Q701/DT800/etc.- delusionist

Review by 'delusionist' on item 'beyerdynamic Tesla T1'
It's hard to review this headphone as it's the most I have ever spent on a headphone. For starters, I don't really care for the HD800, I do have the SA5000 which I consider much more technical. So of all three which would be the most musical, while delivering an accurate sound? The Beyerdynamic...- delusionist

Best closed headphone under 300 dollars
What's with this TC thing? I don't think he'd enjoy the SRH-940 (they're quite bright). Not to mention they have build quality issues. I think he should get the K550. The 940 is probably better in terms of fidelity though, but too many problems.- delusionist

Recommendation for a newbie
Quote: The V6 does indeed sound better than the M50 to my ears. However the V6 is not portable due to the coiled cord. Consider the Sony MDR-ZX700 Also if you plan to listen on your laptop I recommend a USB DAC/amp such as the Fiio E7. Most onboard laptop audio is poor.- delusionist

Best closed headphone under 300 dollars
Quote: The K550 is fairly flat. The highs are brighter than the M50, but it's not bright/piercing. Then again, my listening time with the K550 was very short, I hope this helps.- delusionist

HD650 or HD600?
I'll vote for the HD600. I really really hate the HD650's warm/dark/laid-back/veiled/muddy sound signature. But consider this, I have a friend who has both and he vastly prefers the HD650.- delusionist

Wich are the best headphones under US$1000 for classical music?
I think the consensus is that an airy signature might be best for classical, but then again I'm not sure. I do have the T1 and the Q701 and I find myself switching back and forth between them. The T1 would be perfect if it had a much more airy presentation (like the HD800 and Q701) while keeping...- delusionist

AKG k701 bass
Quote: Because many audiophiles don't understand how EQ works. They might have tried EQ and and inserted positive gain and got clipping and it was a bad experience for them, so they rule out EQ. In the loudspeaker world, EQ is a necessity for calibration. To really hear the K701, I...- delusionist

The Official Beyerdynamic T1 Impressions and Discussion Thread
Quote: Interesting, my T1 is quite laid back when compared to the DT880 and even the Q701. To my ears it's the most accurate full sized headphone I have ever listened to. I'm not sure if it's the best as yet, more hours are needed.- delusionist

Q701 impressions thread
Quote: I got the 10 feet green (with the 1/4 inch screw-on adapter). I have watched many unboxing videos and I saw that both cables are on the underneath of the box where the headphone is tied to. There was only one on mine. I am very satisfied with the Q701, but I want my 20 feet cable...- delusionist

Reply to review by 'delusionist' on item 'Sony MDR-SA5000 DJ Stereo Headphones'
it's not as good as the flagships (T1, HD800, etc) but it's far more detailed and that's really the only thing it has that's better but the SA5000 is best enjoyed when you have a decent headphone collection, as a sole headphone, I would not use it Despite all the cons, I still really love the...- delusionist

Q701 impressions thread
I have contacted Harman and bhphotovideo. When unboxing the Q701, the green seal was present and it showed no signs of being opened before. They look like they're brand new. I want to believe that it was the fault of the factory worker.- delusionist

Q701 question regarding cables
Hi, I just got my Q701BLK today, and I notice I have only received one cable, the ten foot with the 1/4 inch plug attached, it is brand new from bhphotovideo. Has this ever happened to anyone before. I have seen unboxing videos where people got one black and green cable and others get two...- delusionist

Why not a Dual BA from Etymotic?
Quote: The hf5 undergoes the same change that the ER4P undergoes. I am assuming this since they are the same drivers. Though the impedance is slightly higher on the ER4P. I have an 100ohm adapter that was gifted to me from a head-fier. Upon using it from the O2, the first thing you...- delusionist

Why not a Dual BA from Etymotic?
Nice thread, I learned about some valuable info here. I do own an Ety hf5 and for comparison I own the EX1000 (I bought it last year as some praised it as the best universal) Upon comparing and listening, the Ety is more detailed (and probably more accurate) than the EX1000, but it lacks...- delusionist
