Advice on a new setup?
Hi there, So I've been using my current setup for a little over year now (HD650s+Aune T1), and while I have by no means found it an unpleasent experience, I think that a change in sound signature is in order. At the moment I'm finding that my music sounds quite sterile and unlively, and I was...- rt310

Headphones only work on one side?
Hi there, So i've had my Sennheiser HD650s for a little over a year now, and lately i've been noticing that sometimes the left side of the headphone stops working and produces static. However, this problem is remedied when i move the cable around a little bit. Has anyone had a problem like...- rt310

Fender IEM (Aurisonics) Impressions, Reviews & Discussions Thread
Hi guys, My ASG 1.2's right driver died off recently and sent over an email to Dale, who told me to ship it to him for repair. It's also to my understanding that you can send in the 1.2's and get a discount off the ASG-2's; is this true? If so, should i wait for the 2 to be released, and then...- rt310

Searching for the ultimate universal flagship IEM
Why not go custom? By going universal you limit yourself greatly, and since you have plenty of money at your disposal I don't see why you would shy away from them. If you do decide on going customs look into UM Miracle, Fitear MH334!.- rt310

triple fi 10 lost sound quality
How long have you had the TF10s? If they are old you'd be better off buying another pair of IEMs, maybe even CIEMs if you want. The triple. Fi 10s have been discontinued I think, so maybe you could return them and get a discount on their new flagship, the UE900s.- rt310

triple fi 10 lost sound quality
Try unplugging and replugging the phones, that works for me when my right earpiece stops functioning normally. If that doesn't work plug it into another source like your PC and see if the problem still persists. If it does, your driver may be damaged. Best to send it to UE to have it fixed...- rt310

Need help on buying a pair of high end IEMS!
Hey guys, I'm in China ATM visiting relatives and have received quite a large sum of money during my stay (2800 RMB, which equates to around $450 USD). Since then I've been looking for a high end pair of IEMs to purchase. The only catch is that since I cannot seem to find any physical stores...- rt310

Can someone take a look at this site? (chinese)
Hey guys, I'm in China ATM visiting relatives and am trying to find a good price for the Westone W4R's, and if any of you have been to China you'll know that Western products are ridiculously overpriced here. I came across this item...- rt310

Dr Dre beats studio's, Thank you for bringing me to head-fi
It's very true that many people have been lead to Head-fi and into this hobby, but i still don't understand all the hate. Yes, they're overpriced, but there are so many people here willing to fork out hundreds for a cables or even thousands for the tiniest improvements in sound. Suddenly the...- rt310

Buying portable or in-ear headphones? Seeking guidance? DON'T START A NEW THREAD. Ask for advice HERE!
Hey guys, A few months in from purchasing my GR07s I decided to buy another pair of IEMS to try out a new sound sig. I settled on the Yamaha EPH100SL, and needless to say I will be giving these away to a friend. Although they aren't a bad pair of phones I just couldn't help but notice how much...- rt310

Looking for New Headphones (Different sound sig to HD650s)
Quote: Thanks for the suggestions! How does the HE-400 fare against the HD650? From a quick search it seems that there is much debate on which one is better. In what areas do you think the HE-400 excel at as opposed to the HD650? Also, does the Q701 have any differences to the...- rt310

Hi guys, In China ATM and so far have purchased the EPH-100, a new portable rig (Sansa clip zip + amp) and IE80s. Funnily enough i find myself with way too much money left over (lol and its not even new years). As a result of this i'm looking for another full size pair of headphones that...- rt310

Do headphone extension cables lessen sound quality?
Generally a cheap extension cable will deteriorate the sound quality, although you shouldn't be worried as watching movies and gaming isn't a critical listening session. Another option would to get your cans recabled with a longer cable. Depending on the quality of that cable the SQ wouldn't...- rt310

Aune T1 USB Tube DAC+ SS Amp Discussion Thread ***See first post for FAQ--Updated on 02/14/15***
I purchased the Aune T1 and has been pairing very nicely with my HD650s. I'm planning on purchasing the AKG K702s but i'm not sure about the synergy between the two. Has anyone heard this combo? Is it any good? I've heard that the K702s are very sensitive to amping.- rt310

Building a setup
Quote: I cannot stress this enough: DO NOT get the HD800s unless you are willing to fork out 1k+ on an amp/dac. The HD800s are considerably hard to drive, and to make it worse, they're picky about their amp. Since you've stated that you're on a low budget, perhaps think about buying...- rt310

yamaha eph100 vs eph50
Quote: Actually, if he does have low quality music files it would be wiser to go with the cheaper earphones, as the higher end IEMS tend to be detailed and will show it when a recording is bad. 128 vs 320 isn't actually that discernable depending on your setup. OP: Upgrade your...- rt310

looking for new IEM
Quote: I wouldn't Recommend the RE727s for them - from his genres it's evident he wants bassy earphones and the RE727s are extremely bass light. +1 on the EPH-100s though, plenty of bass response w/ those.- rt310
