    The new Eddie Current 2A3x4

Craig surely knows. He said just not to mix them (A vs non-A) and all would be well.

    The new Eddie Current 2A3x4

i have tried the EY500A from Telefunken in my ZDSE and it changes the sound. A decent amount more body. I didn't have luck matching them though. Not sure if the mismatch is what changes the sound. It should just add some 60 hz distortion. I assume they have to be matched in the 2A3 as well. i...

    The new Eddie Current 2A3x4

I should have paid more attention. My 650's are loud at 9 o'clock. I'm sure the HE-6 was less than noon. I was sitting on the right side of the amp and would have noticed. It was certainly less than the Abyss which I paid attention too. Not important in any case. They both sounded great.

The JPS Labs: Abyss AB-1266 Impressions Thread

I heard the Abyss this weekend at the Seattle Head-Fi meet. They were just amazing on my EC 2A3x4. The bass was better than the LCD-3. The sound stage is crazy. Much better than the HD-800 IMHO. I was listening to a 20 year old EDM track, which is normally muddy and pretty boring truthfully. It...

    The new Eddie Current 2A3x4

At this weekend's Seattle meet I got to try some new / different headphones. It sounded great with all of them. No surprise there. I really liked the HE-6. It sounded great to me. The guy with the HE-6 and speaker amp liked it as well. It's only at 9-10 o'clock on the volume knob if memory...

My Amperex are harsher. Weird. Anyone tried a 6c45pi?

    The new Eddie Current 2A3x4

S/N 4 for me. It seems to be taking its time breaking in. I'm on day six but it could still use a little help on transients. They were crazy at first. The Shuguan Nature Sound are pretty nice. Great extension but a little light on mid-bass. Great treble. I currently have a pair of dual mono...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I worked at Microsoft for a while. Every Phd candidate I interviewed with a great résumé couldn't code their way out of a wet paper bag. I knew before they got to my office. It was the same every time. HR was totally worthless with their screening. My wife (still at Microsoft) now goes with a...

Seattle BottleHead HQ Cracks and Stax Spring Meet 2014

What did you guys think of the Eddie Current 2a3 amp that they sent up for the meet? It's not mine you won't hurt my feelings. I know Gil wasn't a fan of my tubes (a little u-shaped). AC/DC wasn't working for him. Send some impressions. Everyone is too quiet. Throw them under the bus, I'm sure...

    Amp recommendations for Fostex TH900?

The HD-800 was very nice with the 2A3. Good bass and mid-bass. It always sounds so hollow to me on other setups. The highs were nice. Still too bright for me. Crazy detail, of course and great sound stage. Best I've heard it. Nearly tolerable ;) Not many impressions yet, but here's the Seattle...

    New Schiit! Ragnarok and Yggdrasil

The Mjolnir power cord comes with a serious warning on it. Who can't use a power cord? I was at least hoping for some good Schiit humor...

Seattle BottleHead HQ Cracks and Stax Spring Meet 2014

Thanks for having us Doc, it was fun as always. Just a couple impressions. I can't say the AKG 812 did anything for me either. It was a tad bright, just not very musical or something. For $399 it would be good. I liked miceblue's Stax setup. I don't know why i didn't try it before. The HiFi man...

I think the translation is that Jason is yanking our chain. Not that I don't fall for it every time...he's got the marketing touch.

    Amp recommendations for Fostex TH900?

No, but I'm sure we'll try them at the Seattle meet and get some impressions. Just not from me. I don't like them :D. Stapsy loves them with his 2A3x4 so i imagine they are great. m hoping it's nice with the new PM-1. We'll find out. I'll post a link when that thread starts.

EC Zana Deux tube rolling pls share

They are soft :-). Good for the HD-800. I'll happily sell you mine (it's an A). Just a few hours on it if that. PM me if you are interested.

    Amp recommendations for Fostex TH900?

Well, I like it better. Previously I liked my LCD better than the Fostex on my Mjolnir and Zana Deux. So it's not because I love the Fostex particularly. The 2A3 has a slightly more tubey warmth than the BA combo, so if you like a drier sound then the BA combo would be for you. I didn't really...

    Amp recommendations for Fostex TH900?

I'm listening to EC's 2A3MkII right now. It's awesome. I think I like it better than the BA and LCD-3. The combo will play the quietest 40Hz rumble. It's so impressive. I'm sure I'm jaded since I can listen to this setup at home instead of at a meet (BA). Crazy detail and not a bit of harshness...

Now we just need an LCD-X and we can have a proper planar shoot out with the PM-1 and 560.

Sounds like the CD rippers problem. You at least want one that will read the CD twice and compare results. Better if it will check an online db. I use dbPowerAmp ( I think that's it) but its on Windows. I don't know a Mac one off hand.

Seattle Spring Meet @ BottleHeadquarters April 26,2014

I just create a playlist of all my permutations and then FFwd in JRemote till my relays click twice. Jremote doesnt have any resolution display on the page i use. It's very, very, very hard picking the ones resampled from 24x96. Then the levels and compression are the same. I'll have to try...
